Summary:
Scandinavian Tobacco Group is actively seeking an experienced Head of Consumer Insights to join our Strategy Department. You will be working out either from our head office in Gentofte, Denmark, or one of the regional offices – Richmond, VA or Bethlehem, PA in USA. You will be reporting to SVP, Strategy, and Transformation, and should anticipate approx. 5-15 travel days per year. You will be working closely with Heads of Marketing, ComEx, and Heads of Commercial divisions. Also, you will have People Management responsibilities leading 1 person for now, with an opportunity for further expansion.
What can you expect as Head of Consumer Insights at STG?
- Build consumer insights agenda and align with Commercial divisions
- Conduct and oversee dedicated tailored research projects to support decision-making across categories and markets (e.g. market entry, platforms)
- Identify opportunities and threats to the business based on market insights, and bring these insights in sparring sessions with stakeholders in Commercial divisions
- Lead and oversee analysis of market trends and market forecasting for the core markets and categories
- Develop knowledge and insights on consumer segments, trends, markets, channels, products, build and develop internal knowledge base
- Translate research and analysis into actionable insights, leverage insights to support and challenge Commercial teams and senior stakeholders
- Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of consumer insights professionals.
- Instill a consumer- and customer-centric mindset in the team, emphasizing the importance of understanding and meeting customer needs
- Promote data-driven decision-making by ensuring that insights and recommendations are based on accurate data and analysis
- Demonstrate ability to think strategically and align insights with broader business goals
- Foster a collaborative work environment and encourage cross-functional collaboration
- Empower team to take ownership, encourage innovation and creative problem-solving
- Demonstrate openness to change and readiness to drive change in the organization, empower teams to try innovative approaches and apply a learning mindset
Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role):
The ideal candidate would have a passion for data, insights & reporting with a customer centric mindset. More specifically, we expect you to have the following characteristics:
- In addition having a strong commercial business background and mindset, education, and/or practical experience on analytical methodologies, insights generation and reporting is needed (min. 7 years)
- Leadership and coaching experience in an international environment, Strong communication and stakeholder management skills needed
- The experience and ability to prioritize what is important and be results driven
- Drive the change, thinks and works strategic and challenge the status quo
