Decarbonisation is a core part of Maersk’s overall business priorities and supported by a dedicated Decarbonisation function that ensures collaboration across commercial, operational, technological, and corporate entities. Today, Maersk is emitting ~60mtCO2e and requires a lot of Green Fuels to replace Fossils on board to reach net zero emissions, but we believe it can be done!
If you want to shape this journey and have a tangible impact on how climate change unfolds, we are looking for a Senior Fuel Transition Manager to join the Decarbonisation Transition Fuels Team. The team is responsible for initial supply chain planning for our Green Fuels to be delivered to vessels on time and at the lowest cost.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Fuel Transition Manager, you will for exploring supply chain options for Methanol and other future fuels. The role entails establishing infrastructure for seamless delivery of Green Fuels to Maersk vessels with the least CO2 footprint at the lowest cost.
You will:
- Establish infrastructure plans for supplying Methanol to our new dual-fuelled Methanol vessels
- Identify and work with relevant vendors (in liaison with other departments in Maersk) to transport and store green fuels throughout the entire supply chain
- Engage with ports and terminals to push for development of infrastructure for Green Fuels
- Have a Total Cost of Ownership mindset while establishing the infrastructure to transport Green Fuels from production to delivery on board vessels
- Ability to eliminate waste and improve on inefficiencies in internal and external procedures
- Understanding of the Green fuels supply chains and price setting parameters
- Ability to build relationship throughout the entire Green fuels supply chain, i.e. logistics providers, barge and companies, railroads and ports & terminals
- Conduct market research and propose potential Green fuels infrastructure providers
What we are looking for in an ideal candidate
- Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ of relevant work experience – for example, in supply chain or operations within the petrochemical industry
- Ability to multitask and perform effectively in an area with high uncertainty
- Adaptable to shifting priorities, workload and responsibilities
- Preferably demonstrated experience in Oil or Petrochemical Infrastructure setup and/or operations
- Excellent stakeholder management and people engagement skills
- Proactiveness and Hands-on attitude as this role is an individual contributor role
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint)
