Together, we lead and leave a positive impact on societies, companies, and people around the world.You will join our Mechanical and Plant Design Discipline As our new Head of Department, you will be in charge of the Mechanical Department with 28 engineers and 2 team leads. Located in Copenhagen, Esbjerg and Vejle, the department is highly experienced and delivers engineering and consultancy services globally within the energy sector. You will become part of an exceptional technical environment with 110 passionate colleagues in Denmark, India, Poland and the UK.The department’s primary focus areas are offshore wind, hydrogen, carbon capture and gas distribution. Our services cover the disciplines mechanical design and studies. We cover all aspects of a project, including concept and feasibility studies, detailed engineering, EPC, and follow-up engineering.You will lead your department and work closely with other disciplines in a collaborative environment delivering interesting projects for our clients.Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:Creating a trust-based department where people are valued team membersDeveloping the department strategy and the department membersResponsible for department economy ensuring that department execution workflows and design tools are updated and maintainedEnsuring distribution of assignments in the teamsBeing part of the discipline’s leadership teamCreating good relations to clients and internal stakeholders Working closely with team members and project managers ensuring that quality and deadlines are metInteracting with clients and stakeholders on technical solutions to ensure the best solution for the clientCoordinating with other disciplines to ensure optimal and effective execution and qualityYour starting point for constant growthFrom the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical EngineeringExperience from managing small or large teamsA minimum of 10 years experience within mechanical design preferably within green energyExperience with multidisciplinary projectsGood oral and writing skills in English, and it is beneficial if you speak DanishPersonal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:You have good people and leadership skillsYou enjoy internal and external stakeholder contactYou are a team player and you make things happenAs your department is located in 3 cities, you must expect 50-75 traveling days a year.
