Then read on, there is an exciting opportunity to join as Portfolio Manager - R&ED Portfolio Strategy and Analytics.
The position
You will report to the VP of R&ED Portfolio Strategy & Analytics and your key responsibilities will include:
• Ideation, planning and delivery of portfolio management analyses that support the direction-setting and decision making for the Novo Nordisk R&ED pipeline.
• Drive assessments of assets within the R&ED portfolio supporting the Governance Portfolio Management & Prioritisation Framework.
• Management of cross-functional projects/initiatives/frameworks with well-defined scope and organizational reach in driving strategic portfolio initiatives.
• Partnering with R&ED leadership and other stakeholders to structure portfolio discussions
• Drive the implementation of an Enterprise Portfolio Management System for the R&ED organisation.
• Connecting with Global Project Teams (GPT), R&D Finance, Commercial Planning and Portfolio Management Offices across NN team and other cross-functional stakeholders to help structure portfolio activities, discussions, and cross functional alignment.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate that has relevant high-level life-science education combined with experience from the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
An ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of drug project development generally, and a technical and scientific understanding of the NN pipeline specifically. Strong strategic and analytical skills and the ability to deliver with high quality under pressure are a must. In addition, you will have a structured approach, demonstrated ability to develop strategic concepts and frameworks as well as a proven track record of driving projects and deliverables independently and in a timely manner.
Importantly, you have excellent stakeholder engagement/management skills along with ability to build trusting relationships at all levels while driving agendas in an independent fashion. Furthermore, you are proactive, ambitious and persistent.
To succeed, you will need to display strong business and financial acumen, strong understanding of the stakeholder landscape and ways of working, ability to make things happen as well as a good understanding of the portfolio management principles and the pharmaceutical value chain.
About the Department
The R&ED Portfolio Strategy & Analytics team is part of the R&ED Strategy and Portfolio Management unit that serves as an internal staff function collaborating across the Novo Nordisk R&ED organisation to develop, refine and facilitate the execution of strategies to meet Novo Nordisk’s both R&ED and R&D aspirations. The unit directly supports and reports to the top management in R&ED and consists of professionals with backgrounds in science, business and consultancy.
The Portfolio Strategy & Analytics area is overall responsible for driving central R&ED portfolio management and to ensure optimal decision-making and direction-setting for the R&ED project portfolio. We are a tight-knit team which is characterised by an informal atmosphere with emphasis on team spirit and a fun and engaging working environment. While we are a fast-paced, high performing team and deeply dedicated to our tasks, we maintain focus on preserving a healthy work-life balance.
