The team waiting for you The Global Data Office is a recently established unit in Digital, Data & IT (DD&IT) with a direct link into Novo Nordisk’s Digital, Data & IT Committee. The focus of the Global Data Office is to detail and execute Novo Nordisk’s global data strategy to unlock the full potential of data across the enterprise and work in close collaboration with the functions and business areas.
The Global Data Office is responsible for developing some of the key data foundational capabilities in Novo Nordisk and enable acceleration of business value delivery of various strategic initiatives through their adoption together with implementing data governance for key data domains across the organisation’s data landscape.
As it’s a new unit, the number of employees is growing continuously, aligned to the speed of maturity of the data capabilities within the organisation and the drive on the data agenda in the business areas.
What’s in it for you? The Principal Data Architect in Global Data Office bears the responsibility to foster value creation by designing and building scalable enterprise solutions for solving specific business challenges through a combination of data foundation capabilities like Data Catalog, Data Governance, Master Data Management, Enterprise Information Model as well as other relevant data capabilities. This includes capabilities within Global Data Office as well as the broader Digital, Data & IT (DD&IT) in Novo Nordisk.
In doing so the Principal Data Architect is responsible for building holistic, scalable and reusable solutions for solving a specific business challenge, but at the same time contributing to building the enterprise data foundation. This position brings techno - functional knowledge while designing data solutions and acts as an advisor for data architecture to specific EVP areas supporting the overall digital transformation journey. Main tasks will include:
Drive data architecture and be a subject-matter expert in Data related initiatives and guide the solutioning and implementation in specific business areas Provide technical expertise and guidance for components to ensure enterprise-wide alignment and transparent data management Drive the enterprise data strategy across Novo Nordisk and in designated business areas data strategies Take the role as Data solution owner across multiple capabilities within the internal project teams Act as the Data Subject Matter expert for the Product/Epic Owners or the scrum team Interpret technical requirements and integrate them into the product backlog. Ensure to add user stories and align product strategies with customer needs You will assist and support the team on important technical decisions, offer advice on Sprint planning and help Product Owners set and manage stories concerning technical debt. Principal Data Architect serves as the bridge between the Agile team and stakeholders. Acts as technical consultants to stakeholders, Including Business Owners, Product Managers, Scrum Masters and members from other teams. You will also work and collaborate within Data Office with roles like Data Partners, Epic/Product Owners, Implementation & PM, Capability Architects and various other internal and external roles. Qualifications To be confident in this role, we believe you should have: Bachelor or master’s degree in information science, computer science or related field or equivalent work experience 8+ years of experience as an enterprise, solution or information architect with focus on data solutions, ideally from Pharma, Finance or Retail industry driving enterprise-wide projects, operating and influencing effectively across the organisation and within complex contexts Exposure to data management tools (Informatica, Ab Initio, Snowflake, AWS, Azure etc. or other) would be an advantage, but is not a must Experience with assessing and implementing enterprise-wide data management tools and data models Working at Novo Nordisk Founded in Denmark in 1923, Novo Nordisk has become one of the world’s leading healthcare companies.
