We are seeking a Project Vice President to join the project management team and lead a late stage development project with Alzheimer disease.
This will be a great opportunity for you if you want to apply your pharmaceutical development expertise in a leadership position where you lead cross-functional teams to deliver toward ambitious goals.
About the Other Serious Chronic diseases and Outcomes
Within the area we are 140 colleagues in medical, clinical operations and project management related functions. We are responsible for driving our expanding development portfolio within cardiovascular diseases, chronic kidney disease and Alzheimer’s Disease including executing large outcome trials.
We are part of the Clinical Drug Development under our Development organisation and located in the Copenhagen area in Denmark
About the position
Initially you will be responsible for a phase 3 project with Alzheimer disease. In your role, you will have global impact as the leader of the Global Project Teams (GPT) – with cross-functional representation from multiple areas in the organisation, you will be responsible for driving and coordinating development activities, and for interactions with Novo Nordisk’ top management, external partners, advisors, and regulatory authorities worldwide. In addition, you will be involved in commercial and scientific discussions as well as considerations related to production and preparations for launch. You will drive relevant activities necessary for successful development and approval of the new medicine via a multidisciplinary Global Project Team (GPT).
Due to the expansive and visionary nature of the area, you will also be involved in more high-level strategic activities and improvement work. The job holds ample opportunities for personal development and your interactions with all key skills areas involved in drug development provides a unique learning opportunity within drug development. You will work in close collaboration with the Corporate Project Vice President who is heading up the OSCD area.
Your place of work will be in Søborg, Denmark (near Copenhagen). We have flexible working options which also includes the possibility of working from home e.g., 2 days a week. Travel activities are expected to constitute 4-6 travels annually of a few days each.
We welcome international applicants and will be able to offer relocation support if needed.
Qualifications
You have a relevant scientific background (medical, biological, or pharmaceutical science) and experience within drug development as well as:
• Substantial business and R&D value chain understanding and experience from positions within the R&D value chain
• Successful project management experience from leading cross functional projects
• Formal project management training and business insight
We expect you to be ambitious, driven and have excellent collaboration skills, combined with an ability to make decisions, and set direction. You can lead by example, and it will be expected that you act as a Novo Nordisk Way role model by being accountable, ambitious, responsible, engaged with stakeholders, open and honest and ready for change. In addition, we expect that you have good coaching skills and an ability to support individuals to improve their performance and maximise your future potential.
You have a global mindset and experience dealing with a complex stakeholder landscape and you are willing to learn and embrace new ways of working as well as new ways of conducting clinical development. Experience with line management is an advantage to become successful in the position.
