The Department of Biology, University of Southern Denmark, offers a three-year research assistant position in marine mammal biology, starting 1 September 2022. Application deadline: 6 July 2022.
The research assistant will perform research at the Marine Biological Research Centre in Kerteminde on harbour porpoises and other species of toothed whales. Some of the work will involve trained animals at Fjord&Bælt, Kerteminde, and in dolphinaria in Spain.
The assistant will also help out with field work on porpoises and dolphins in Danish waters and in other parts of the world.
The applicant should have an MSc degree in marine biology and at least one year of additional research experience using hydrophones and drones, preferably with research involving both trained and wild animals. Abilities to drive a boat and a professional diving license are great pluses.
