The position
As a Strategy Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the execution of the Diabetes Therapy Area (TA) Strategy. You will be responsible for:
  • Driving progress on the agreed focus areas and initiatives in the Diabetes TA Strategy
  • Involving relevant parts of the commercial diabetes organisation across brand teams, market access, and medical
  • Ensuring a strong on-going collaboration with R&D to set direction and drive co-development of solutions
  • Playing a key role in evolving the commercial guidance from Target Product Profiles for the molecule to holistic treatment solutions including the “5 Ds” (drug, device, digital, diagnostics and data)

  • The role offers strong exposure to the commercial Diabetes Leadership Team as well as key stakeholders across the R&D organisation and will provide broad insights into Novo Nordisk’s global Diabetes franchise across the value chain. Qualifications
    To thrive and succeed, we expect you to have:
  • A master’s degree in Natural Sciences, Engineering, Business, or Economics
  • +10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry from roles in commercial and/or science/clinical; or roles at the intersection of the two areas
  • Experience with management consulting or strategy development as well as execution of complex strategy projects
  • Excellent analytical and structured problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex problems and provide actionable insights and recommendations
  • High proficiency with Power Point
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • On a personal level is it important that you have excellent stakeholder management/influencing skills and can lead a cross-functional team with multiple senior stakeholders. You have the ability to distil information into clear and compelling written presentations. About the department
    Diabetes Early Portfolio & Insights is anchored in the Commercial Diabetes unit and reports directly to the Senior Vice President. We are responsible for developing the Diabetes TA Strategy and driving the execution in close collaboration with R&D and other parts of the value chain. We have a key focus on the intersection between business and science/technology as we are responsible for providing commercial guidance to R&D by defining aspirational Target Product Profiles, guiding the early diabetes pipeline projects. Moreover, we provide actionable insights based on competitive intelligence, primary and secondary market research (and data) as well as forecasting to enable fact-based decision making in senior management.
