The position
As our new Associate Global Portfolio Director, you will provide commercial guidance to our R&D organisation, setting the bar for what success looks like in the future. You will be responsible for:
You are expected to easily navigate and operate in the cross-field of business and science and bridge commercial and scientific considerations to meet patient needs.
On a daily basis, you will work with a diverse network of internal colleagues from R&D, Commercial, Global Evidence & Patient Access, Strategic Finance, and Product Supply. You will work in a global context but interact primarily with headquarter functions and report to the Vice President of Early Pipeline.
You can expect up to 10 travel days per year.

Obesity Early Pipeline sets commercial direction and ambition for Novo Nordisk’s future obesity drug portfolio. The team shapes R&D projects by clearly articulating the patient needs and what makes projects commercially attractive in +10 years from now. We’re responsible for the early-stage projects from pre-projects to phase 2 and set commercial direction for both internal and external opportunities.

The position
As our new Associate Global Portfolio Director, you will provide commercial guidance to our R&D organisation, setting the bar for what success looks like in the future. You will be responsible for:
- The commercial profile for drug candidates from pre-projects to G2 - building strong target product profiles, product development plans and be the commercial voice in global cross-functional project teams
- Maintaining a strong portfolio strategy with clear guidance and trade-offs
- Understanding how the obesity market will evolve long-term and develop and anchor aspirational product profiles as a competitive response to future needs
- Developing state-of-the-art tools and deliverables on project and portfolio level
- Drive strategic commercial assessment & financial valuations
You are expected to easily navigate and operate in the cross-field of business and science and bridge commercial and scientific considerations to meet patient needs.

Qualifications
To thrive and succed, we expect you to have:
- Master’s degree in business/economics or a scientific degree with the addition of a business degree
- 5-10 years’ experience in early-stage product development and commercialisation with a proven track record working across the value chain
- Demonstrated financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working across multiple stakeholders
