Are you ready to play a key role in driving the adoption of emerging digital technologies and open innovation in Novo Nordisk, while driving digital innovation strategies with key stakeholders? If yes, you might be our new People Manager & Head of Open Innovation! The role and its responsibilities
We are looking for a profile to lead a team that works together with business units to evaluate start-ups, define business opportunities, and build investment cases in the digital space. We are looking for flexibility and creativity to link opportunities and drive the maturation from ideas to successful pilots and from pilots to investment opportunities. The Head of Open Innovation position is part of the global Business Innovation Garage Management Team, where you, among other things, will be responsible for:
  • Driving co-development with start-ups/consultancies to build new product offerings to the business, by engaging with projects, vendors, development partners, and start-ups to ensure best-fit solutions. In doing so, you will be developing innovation capabilities including design thinking, ideation best practices, and agile methodologies.
  • Deliver compelling pitches about new technology and novel use cases both internally and externally as well as participate in and drive digital innovation strategies in collaboration with key business stakeholders.
  • Leading and guiding the Open Innovation team, by implementing agile and collaborative techniques within the team and engaging with the global network of hubs to scale solutions globally.
  • Rolling out our accelerator program, by deploying the accelerator program framework, establishing open innovation processes, roadmap, and KPIs, and ensuring the successful execution of the program.
  • Which competencies to bring?
    To succeed in the role, we expect you to bring your extensive passion and experience in driving start-up support programmes and engaging stakeholders in complex environments. We see that you have at least 8 years of experience working in venture capital, consulting, and/or product management in a corporate. In addition, we see that you will be able to tick most of the following boxes:
  • An innovation track record working on, or driving, disruptive projects from idea to launch, where you have been running incubation or acceleration programmes in complex structures and managing projects and pilots (Experience working with or in start-ups and in digital healthcare will be a plus).
  • A passion for people leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and experience in developing relationships and working with multiple stakeholders on high-profile cross-functional and multinational initiatives.
  • A proven track record in building, leading, and developing digital innovation team(s) and experience deploying new products or units across different geographies.
  • Knowledge and passion for digital trends, while being able to internally sell concepts and initiatives that challenge the status quo.
  • Experience in developing relationships and working with multiple stakeholders on high-profile cross-functional and multinational initiatives, where you can include your customer-centric and innovative mindset
  • Outstanding (English) communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to relevant stakeholders from various levels of authority.

    In your new role, you will join the Business Innovation Garage. A high-growth unit within the Digital Incubator and Innovation (DII) department of Novo Nordisk. Our core focus is to remain forward-looking and showcase strong adaptability. Furthermore, the team is and must be working in a highly agile manner and be able to shift its focus based on rapidly changing opportunities and threats within emerging technologies. Our team is exploring four main areas:
  • Explore the limits of technology and its impact in cardiometabolic patients to untap the next big digital disruptor in healthcare
  • Accelerate the digital transformation of NN by supporting the organization in boosting partnerships with start-ups in digital healthcare.
  • Support the organization in the execution of the digital strategy and its implementation across the organization.
  • Creation of an innovation hub that will host an environment where corporate and start-ups come together to experiment, build and co-create in support of initiatives that challenge status quo and leverage new technologies.
