We’re looking for a Data Engineer to contribute to developing and delivering innovative data solutions to our key stakeholders. You’ll be part of the Data Management Centre of Excellence within Digital, Data & IT, where we focus on high value creation and innovation to improve the lives of patients. Join us on our mission to #BringDataToLife! The role and responsibilities In this role you will work on one or more projects that are focused on building data pipelines. And we mean all kinds of data – including research, clinical, production and business data. You will join a team of data engineers driving ongoing development and delivery of our data management solutions. You will be working in Agile environment with regular sprint meetings and a daily focus on building new data solutions on AWS Your tasks will include: Contributing to your assigned product team, making technical recommendations based on your knowledge of customer requirements and technological capabilities Participating in the development, automation and ongoing improvement of data pipelines and platforms built in AWS Collaborating with stakeholders across the business, to understand, develop and showcase solutions to their data management needs. Establishing CI/CD pipelines and applying DevOps practices to setup efficient and robust deployment processes. Collaborating with a team of talented internal and external developers to set development standards and best practices for data engineering in Novo Nordisk.
What we are looking for We’re looking for someone with a Master’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, software development or a related field. Equally important, we are looking for someone with a passion for data engineering, who is curious and eager to grow and develop their skills set. In addition to this, we believe our new colleague will be able to tick most of the following boxes: Your technical experience can come from a variety of data solutions. Most important is that you understand the technologies involved in the components that comprise the data lake, data science, ML and AI solutions, and you know how these are integrated. An awareness of data mesh principles is an advantage. You love programming with Python and SQL. In doing so, you would have some hands-on experience with extraction and wrangling of data and some experience working with SQL databases. You have used modern cloud computing tools. Experience with AWS will be a significant advantage, and further training in innovative tools will be provided. You are familiar with CI/CD, DevOps, and Agile development principles. You are curious by nature and have a sincere interest in exploring new technologies. You can understand complex technical matters, form an educated opinion, and communicate with impact to a variety of stakeholders with different levels of technical expertise.
Since you will be working in a global environment, you must expect some meetings to take place outside Danish working hours. Fluent spoken and written English is a prerequisite. The starting date for this position is flexible, and can, to some degree, be adjusted based on the candidate. Here you will work with architects, developers, analysts, and data engineers. We are expanding our offerings to the global organisation, so we need extra resources to succeed with our journey and ambitious vision. We do data acquisition and ingestion; data analysis and data engineering; evangelising the use of data and advanced analytics; and supporting data science users of our platform. We are cloud native and we work primarily on AWS. We deliver solutions using Scrum methodology. We have built and are operating the enterprise data lake, data mesh and data science platform on AWS to support our vision, which is to be able to deliver world class management of data. The overarching goal is to use data to gain new understandings and insights, drive optimisations and create true value to Novo Nordisk and the patients we serve.
