The position
As our new Environmental System Manager you will report to the Head of Environmental Compliance and Expansions Support where you will be anchored in Environment and Social Sustainability (ESS), part of a new CVP area, Strategy and Sustainability in Product Supply Quality and IT (PSQIT).
In this role you will lead, develop, and motivate a growing department of highly specialized colleagues, driving environmental compliance across Novo Nordisk production sites globally.
'You will be responsible for the Novo Nordisk environmental management system; you will ensure optimization of the system and key processes to ensure compliance with current and emerging environmental requirements to support our growing business. To drive this agenda, you will work with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and ensure elevated environmental performance both short and long-term in line with our environmental strategy, Circular for Zero.
Specifically your key tasks will be:
• To champion and lead the compliance subject matter experts fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and open communication.
• To establish and deliver on a focused plan to ensure a more efficient, value adding environmental management system for a broader Novo Nordisk.
• To drive progress towards environmental performance via e.g. the Environment Process Group and global environmental resources.
• To ensure all legal, and ISO certification requirements are met, and to ensure solid processes and compliance for our capacity expansion projects.
• To ensure synergies with our Circular for Zero ambition and realization of PSQIT Circular for Zero targets
Qualifications
We imagine that a successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment and has:
• +5 years of experience working with environmental management (ISO 14001), management systems, environmental compliance or sustainability.
• Solid experience of leading a team of specialists within EHS/ compliance, preferably in a global setting.
• Masters’ degree in Environment, Engineering, Business or another related field
• Fluent English skills both written & verbal

Anchored within Environmental & Social Sustainability, the Environmental Compliance and Expansions Support department is growing. It is currently made up of 12 specialists responsible for driving proactive compliance to protect Novo Nordisk’s global license to operate and to ensure compliant, sustainable Novo Nordisk production facilities for the future.
