If you want to be part of the most ambitious venture of Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Pilots to date and are looking for a position in a high-paced and dynamic environment, then you might be the new Associate Manager we are looking for to the area of Purification Pilot Plants (PPP). For an introduction to our area - CMC API Pilots - please visit our career page The Position Your team is a newly established modification team in the department, consisting of up to 16 employees (scientists and technicians), who are going to test the brand-new facility and run it, when completed in 2024. This means that you are going to build most of your team and when we are ready, your tasks will be to prepare, conduct, and report API production campaigns in the team and in close collaboration with the Development and Production areas of Novo Nordisk. Your main tasks will be to:
  • Lead your team and set a clear direction for them.
  • Build visible, and easy to approach, based on-site Bagsværd.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively both with your team and with your stakeholders.
  • In this role, you will have opportunities to grow personally and professionally by developing your leadership competencies and being part of establishing new facilities while keeping the current production running. You will be a part of the PPP leadership of 7 colleagues, ensuring our daily operations and future productions needs are meet. Qualifications To succeed in this position, you have:
  • A degree in science/technology, biochemical/chemical engineering, pharmacy, or other relevant fields.
  • Solid people management experience, ideally from the pharmaceutical industry or production environment.
  • Previous experience from a GMP-regulated manufacturing area (a plus).
  • Proficiency in English, and preferably Danish, both written and spoken
  • On a personal level, we expect you to be an ambitious and performance-oriented leader, that finds simple solutions to complex challenges. You demonstrate strong communication skills, take responsibility for developing others and motivate your employees by being inspiring and engaging. Furthermore, you think above and beyond your area and you promote knowledge sharing with your peers. Also, you can challenge the status quo and see cLEAN as a natural part of your daily work. About the Department PPP is part of CMC API Pilot and CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing & Control) Development & Scaling area that manufactures and controls new drug substance candidates for the development portfolio at Novo Nordisk. Currently, 75 staff make up the department and are split into five teams (soon to be six), four facilities and two locations (Gentofte and Bagsværd). Our core tasks include the upscaling of processes and purification of proteins for use in clinical and non-clinical trials (filtration, chromatography). Our department consists of academics, specialists, interns and technicians. We are entering an exciting phase of the expansion of our Purification Pilot Plant (PPP), where we continue to optimize and increase our production of API for clinical and development trials. We are preparing for taking in more exciting development projects and brand-new production facilities in 2024 to raise the capacity for the supply of the oral portfolio.
