As the Senior Manager for the Plastic Processing team, you will lead a team of 15 highly skilled subject matter experts and 2-5 students covering the manufacturing of plastic components from process development, process robustness, robots, Injection Moulding Machines (IMMs) and plastic quality and sustainability. These experts contribute to driving a portfolio of new devices and expert support to running business. As our new Senior Manager you will:
  • Build and develop your team and align employee skills and behaviors with the desired culture, with a focus on diversity and inclusiveness. Ensure clear roles and responsibilities between employees and create a future outlook in terms of resource requirements within the competence areas you are responsible for.
  • Meet with your stakeholders on a regular basis, both in formal governance meetings and informally. You gather feedback and discuss the need for new projects to be initiated based on a variety of business drivers.
  • Support the project scoping and ensure to set the right direction for new development projects. You will be the bridge between the management needs and the team.
  • Drive creativity and innovation into the solutions developed, while making sure that technologies are matured to a level where implementation into regulated production can be done in a robust and scalable manner.
  • Report to the Director of Components in Device Manufacturing Development (DMD) and contribute to organizational development and strategy discussions.
  • As our new Senior Manager, you will need to understand the key deliverables of the team and which inputs and conversion processes are required to obtain them. You will be accountable for ensuring that processes are adhered to and comply with Novo Nordisk's regulatory and quality standards. Continuous improvement of current systems and procedures is imperative, and you will be expected to identify gaps and opportunities for enhancement and take the lead in initiating relevant projects. Global travel activity is 5 to 10 days per year. Qualifications To be considered for this position, we expect you to:
  • Hold an academic degree within engineering, or any other relevant field.
  • Have relevant work experience in manufacturing development, R&D or equipment development.
  • Possess a previous management experience or excellent people Leadership skills.
  • Have a previous experience with either manufacturing of plastic components, technology development or research, or sustainability (eg. recycling towards circular economy, LCA or P2X).
  • Be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • It would be considered an advantage if you are familiar with production in a regulated industry (GMP) and project management. As a person, you are a team player who finds joy in assisting others and sharing knowledge. You maintain a humble approach and are open to listen, learn, and acknowledge your limitations by seeking help or advice. You possess exceptional communication skills, which enable you to establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, as well as to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner. You are adaptable to changes in priorities and organization and demonstrate empathy towards others, taking an interest in your colleagues' well-being. About the department
    The Components department is one of seven departments in Device Manufacturing Development (DMD) and consists of 4 teams and 55 employees. They specialize in developing manufacturing processes to produce medical device components, as well as process validation and production of new device components for clinical trials and regulatory submission. They have a diverse project portfolio and are constantly seeking new solutions and emerging technologies.
