The position
As the Associate Director of Pricing Insights, you will be in charge of Novo Nordisk’s pricing function development across therapy areas and products, incl. pricing systems & tools, pricing governance, capability building, and pricing insights generation and reporting across the portfolio. You will work on strategic projects and support the senior leadership of the company in making data-driven decisions. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with stakeholders across the value chain and work alongside a team of pricing experts located in our Global offices in Søborg, Denmark, and in our Global Business Service unit in Bangalore, India.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Lead the development and reporting of pricing insights across the portfolio, incl. the strategic brands
• Create and provide pricing insights to key stakeholders in various formats, such as reports, tools/dashboards, newsletters, etc.
• Establish and upkeep an overview of both internal and external data sources to create pricing insights across the portfolio or within a specific therapy area.
• Support strategic projects aimed at informing portfolio optimization and scenarios, among other objectives.
• Oversee the development, licensing, and deployment of pricing tools and systems across the organization, including price approval tracking, international reference pricing (IRP), launch sequence optimization (LSO), and price database.
• Create and maintain procedures for planning and implementing the generation of pricing insights for new product launches, which will inform price business cases, rollout plans, and strategies Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following qualifications:
• An M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in economics, health economics, business finance, or similar
• At least 8 years of industry experience, with a minimum of 4 years of pricing experience in market access, business analytics, or finance preferably from working in an affiliate, regional, or headquarters role, or consultancy.
• Thorough understanding of the pricing and market access landscape in major global markets, such as the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, and China
• Analytical skills to estimate prices, assess willingness to pay, evaluate portfolios, and determine financial implications are required
• Experience in building pricing reports, dashboards, business case development, analytics, and scenario planning
• Individual leadership capabilities and exceptional stakeholder management skills As a person, you can effectively communicate analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders using spoken, written, and visual mediums. You act proactively in developing solutions to address future challenges and opportunities by effectively listening and reading the organization. About the department
The Global Pricing function is crucial to the commercial success of products in the pharmaceutical industry. We are responsible for developing global pricing strategies for all our assets, providing insights and recommendations to senior management, and providing pricing guidance to the organization to support drug development and commercialization.
