The DataNow programme will rethink the ways of working for clinical data capture and consolidation while replacing an existing EDC system and Data Management Work Bench from Oracle with Veeva Vault EDC and Clinical Database (CDB), supported by the development of business-critical Data Products on an Azure DataBricks platform called DataCore. As our Senior Data Engineer you will work in Azure DataBricks platform on ingestion of data and development of business-criticaldata products by implementing the needed Data Pipelines and Data Transformations. You will collaborate with a cross-functional global agile team (incl. Product Owner, Product Designer, Tech Lead, Subject Matter Experts, Scrum Master) where you can support shaping the landscape and the architecture for DataNow. Your will get the opportunity to: Work closely with Product Owners and delivery teams, to provide guidance, and drive alignment throughout given the defined Roadmap and Architecture principles Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes leveraging Microsoft Azure and DataBricks, incl. data engineering in e.g., Python Ensure documentation of requirements and specifications Shaping the way for a big company to move towards a composable architecture with more inhouse built microservices in the tech landscape Be part of requirement break down and refinement with colleagues until they are sufficiently understood and defined to be worked on You are to work with colleagues which are spread all over Europe so the bulk of the work will be handled online. You’ll have a chance to immerse yourself into not only the tech, but also understand the ins and outs of the business challenge as you engage with team members, end-users, as well as internal partners to craft the best solutions.
Candidate profile To be successful in this role, we believe that you should tick-off most of the following requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 3+ years of proven experience in data engineering roles, with a focus on building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes Expertise in Microsoft Azure services (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, etc.). Proficiency in DataBricks for data manipulation, transformation, and analysis Strong programming skills in Python and experience using it for data processing and manipulation Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and data modelling principles Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) is a plus Experience with testing of solutions as part of CI/CD pipelines As a person you have good communication skills ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, you are a problem-solver and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
