The position
is significantly expanding the use of digital solutions in our entire value chain. To ease this journey, more sourcing capacity is needed. As Senior IT Category Manager you will help expand our ability to execute high value and high impact digital sourcing projects.
Your main responsibilities will be to: Drive complex sourcing projects – from idea creation, scoping, sourcing, to contract negotiation and implementation Build trust – actively work to secure procurement involvement in sourcing activities, turn procurement into a trusted partner to customers by adding value and ensuring business needs are understood, prioritized, and met Manage supplier relationships - including supplier segmentation and strategy development and execution of planned activities Drive business development through engaging with users and senior stakeholders in line of business to develop and quantify ideas for new projects, substitution, or value-adding activities that generate benefits and savings to Support colleagues and take a proactive role in the continuous development of our sourcing department and our team
We expect you to be confident assuming sourcing responsibility and driving complex sourcing projects from initiation to negotiations independently and be comfortable using data to drive evidence-based decision-making, complete high-quality complex analysis, and draw strong recommendations.
You will work together with skilled and top motivated peers throughout the global line of business, the global IT organisation and upstream and downstream suppliers in the projects you participate in.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you have a degree (M.sc. or BA) in, e.g. social science, economics, law, business administration, IT, engineering or similar, and 5-7 years of relevant experience working with, e.g., procurement projects, sourcing, category management, supply chain, IT or business development, preferably within life science and digital.
Other success criteria are: Strong sourcing toolbox, and understanding of procurement to pay process, and excellent execution skills Strategic and innovative mindset and ability to provide hands-on operational support, if needed Experience in sales and consulting would be considered an advantage Excellent stakeholder management, presentation and communication skills at all levels of the organisation Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint Fluency in English, written and orally
