Platform Product Owner – Developer Portal
This role can either be based in our Denmark (Copenhagen), Netherlands (Hague) or UK (Maidenhead) office.
The Business Platforms organization is at the forefront of developing cutting edge technologies to improve the customer’s experience with personalized and automated end-to-end digital journeys, that enable Maersk customers to access standardized products and services seamlessly. The Platforms help enable Maersk’s vision to be the Global Integrator of container logistics, connecting and simplifying customers’ supply chains. Additionally, the team creates the foundation to integrate data, systems and processes, powered by scalable Digital Infrastructure and APIs
The role
We are looking for a platform product owner for Maersk Developer Portal (developer.maersk.com). The Developer Portal is a customer and partner facing web application product. Where customers and partners can explore, onboard and self-service our integration and data solutions offering. The Developer Portal will become a vital interface for Maersk in a future where logistics becomes integrated and connected.
You will drive a product vision through all stages of its lifecycle by building product strategy, a road map with a backlog of capabilities and features for the Developer Portal. You will have a tight dialogue with internal stakeholders where collaboration and negotiation are needed. You will make sure that we understand our customers' needs, pain points and business objectives.
What you will do
· Own the full product lifecycle from ideation, refinement, prioritization, development, launch and maintain with a build measure learn mindset (data-driven)
· Owning the scrum teams’ backlog, prioritizing and providing user stories, features and epics
· Measures and reports the team's progress and impact on the business. This includes defining key business and product success metrics, tracking them, and improving upon them
· Understand customer pain points and together with a cross-functional team including UX design and content writers provide an intuitive and friction free customer/developer experience for the target audience of the Developer Portal. The target users are mainly external developers, architects and decision makers
· Customer/developer management, maintaining and tracking sucess/progress, analysing trends, having regular interactions to get the necessary targets addressed, building relationships, and improving quality of engagement with customers
· Communicate and sell upcoming features, plans and opportunities and be an evangelist for the Developer Portal
· Overall responsible for core aspects of the Developer Portal, like functionalities, feature set and content. Additional overall quality responsibility, like stability uptime and performance of the portal
· Internal stakeholder and dependency management where you will collaborate, co-create and coordinate deliveries with different product teams from different business areas. Additionally develop and continuously improve way of working and operations around the Developer Portal space
Finally, you will lead, plan and report the ongoing work in relevant forums and communities. You will be working in a social environment that requires you to be a communicative person with good abilities to build and maintain strong relationships. You need to manage and help the development team while displaying the owner's mentality. You will work in a tight dialogue with your leader to support the growth and development of the team members through sharing feedback on team members. You will also, on a regular base share the vision and budget with relevant parties to strategically fill potential resource gaps.
Who you are
Most important is your personality and desire to drive and evolve a customer facing digital product. More than that, a university degree in a relevant field and many years of experience in product management and agile ways of working. As a person you have an interest in both tech and business and the potential opportunities in that intersection. You are used to taking ownership, building relationships and can communicate and manage stakeholders on different levels. Having an owner's mentality is vital for this role with an outstanding ability to coach, lead and encourage others. The masterpiece we create and deploy must hold high quality for many years to come.
Nice to Have
· Experience in building and leading a developer portal product
· Experience in customer and partner integration work with an understanding of REST API, EDI integration, events and messaging technology
· Experience in building and leading a web-based product and web application technology knowledge
· Experience in the logistic industry
· Prior knowledge of building developer experience (DX) and developer evangelism
