At RiskPoint Group we’re seeking a skilled and motivated Backend System Developer to join our dynamic and innovative team. You will become part of our growing team, working with other IT specialists in both Denmark, Norway, and the UK. The IT team is part of our Finance & Operations department, comprising 27 colleagues within their respective fields.
We operate in an agile organization with close cross-border cooperation. We are organized based on our product areas, and have regular Teams calls/meetings to continue strengthening the team, sharing latest updates, and transferring knowledge.
Our organizational structure is flat, leaving many opportunities for all employees to make a difference, take responsibility, excel, and grow.
RiskPoint is more than just a place of work: We prioritize social events and despite being a company with approximately 220 employees, we do consider ourselves one happy family.
About the position
We are currently in the early stages of transitioning to a cloud-based, “best of breed” architecture, and therefore also adopting a modern and exciting technology stack, with the goal being to increase our agility and deliver better solutions for our business.
As a Backend System Developer, your primary role will be to implement and maintain the services and integrations required to glue together the platforms we adopt, thereby delivering a cohesive application landscape that can rapidly evolve with the business.
All our in-house backend development is currently in Golang with services and integrations hosted as serverless functions. Therefore, day-to-day, you will be working closely with architects, analysts, and developers on sprint-based delivery of new features & enhancements using this stack. Additionally, since we are a small team, this role will occasionally involve some DevOps work to help maintain and enhance our CI/CD processes.
The job will involve daily contact with colleagues, contractors, and outsourced vendors. Therefore, you should enjoy building relationships and be a confident communicator. The role will also require occasional international travel to visit our other offices or those of our vendors, partners etc.

- Collaborating closely with the IT Team and the Business to accurately populate Jira with features, stories, and tasks relating to backend development.
- Being an active member of the agile development process, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, show & tells, etc.
- Undertaking the development work required to complete the Jira stories assigned to yourself, using Golang or other tools and technologies as agreed.
- Performing the DevOps work required to improve the automation of testing, integration, deployment, etc.
- Diagnosing functional and performance issues with existing backend services & integrations.
- Using your professional experience, skills, and knowledge to help improve our IT architecture and processes.
- Working with IT & Business governance to ensure our backend systems are secure and compliant.

Wish list of qualifications and experience:
- You have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- You have held a development role in a corporate environment for at least 5 years with at least 2 of those working extensively in Golang.
- You have DevOps experience, ideally using GitHub Actions and Terraform.
- You have worked in a team using an Agile software development life cycle.
- You have excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- You are a strong communicator, both written and verbal.
- You are able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- You are trustworthy, reliable, and solution oriented.
- You are ambitious but at the same time humble and open to learning new things.
