We are looking for a Scientific Product Owner Research for Lab Data Analytics to join our Software Products Department in Novo Nordisk. The position The Scientific Product Owner Research Lab Data Analytics will take on the responsibility for several of our research data analytics platforms, consisting of vendor and in-house-built solutions. In this role, you will be creating and continuously refining a sound vision and roadmap for accelerating R&ED with digital lab data analytics and visualisation approaches. The current and future digital solutions will be leveraged by R&ED scientists at all global research sites in Denmark, UK, US, and China. By leading an interdisciplinary product team, consisting of colleagues from DSI and our global IT organization, and interacting with a diverse set of stakeholders across R&ED, you will ensure the successful realization of that vision. You will be expected to align with other product owners and stakeholders to coordinate the delivery of digital solutions within an agile solution delivery model and build-up and nurture strong relationships across the R&ED organization. As a Scientific Product Owner for Research Lab Data Analytics, you will: Be a key contributor to our strategic initiative to modernize and evolve our ability to provide flexible lab data analytics solutions for R&ED scientists. Improve the effectiveness of data-driven research by driving the enhancement of existing and deployment of new platforms for analysing and visualising research data created in our R&ED laboratories or by CROs. Ensure excellent team dynamics within the product team you are leading and the continuous delivery of value for R&ED scientists. Work in close collaboration with R&ED scientists (across our different global research sites) that need powerful lab data analytics and visualisation tools to generate insights supporting our preclinical portfolio. Take on the product ownership of our current lab data analytics and data visualisation tools consisting of commercial and home-built digital solutions and ensure the transition into a coherent value-delivering digital solution landscape. Establish and nurture effective partnerships with research IT specialists, IT and data experts, external consultants, and digital solution vendors to ensure strategic alignment, high engagement, and the effective prioritization of resources. Act as a champion for agile solution delivery in a matrix organization by fostering professionalism and following best practices. Qualifications To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications, you have: PhD or equivalent in Life Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, or related fields. Alternatively, a BSc/MSc and 5+ years of experience in life sciences, medical device or the pharmaceutical industry. Extensive experience in analysing and visualizing complex, multidimensional research data stemming from pharmaceutical research / life science. Broad expertise ranging from research data management to scientific digital solutions, including the ability to perform hands on technical work. Experience in integrating data from multiple sources and technologies and comprehend the value of FAIR data. Solid working experience with research data visualisation tools like Spotfire, Vortex, D360, or similar. Solid understanding of scientific workflows in life sciences and working experience with analysing lab data in (semi-)automated fashion, e.g., via vendor solutions like Genedata Screener/Expressionist, ACDLabs, or similar. Solid knowledge in a scripting language, e.g., Python, R, or similar. Relevant knowledge of scientific software development, data engineering, and DevOps in an agile environment. Demonstrated the ability to negotiate complex expectations with a structured approach, generate valuable and relevant ideas, create concepts and solutions based on prioritized requirements and existing digital solutions. The ability to thrive amidst ambiguity and discern the unexpressed problems and derived requirements for digital solutions in a complex global research organization. Experience in leading cross-functional scientific software development teams in a high-paced, dynamic environment. The department Software Products Department is a part of Data Management and Informatics of Digital Science & Innovation (DSI). Within the Software Products Department, the Scientific Product Owner team consists of highly motivated digital experts with both scientific and technical knowledge. They have the skills to create, own, and disseminate the vision and roadmap for impactful digital solutions and are key players during the design, implementation, and operation phase to accelerate digitalization across R&ED. While working in different product teams in a scaled agile framework, focussed on delivery, the Scientific Product Owner team brings together individuals with similar competencies and capabilities, allowing for optimal skill development and knowledge sharing.
