  • Keen to proactively seek opportunities and find a pragmatic solution to an engineering or sourcing-related challenges
  • Able to present a clear overview and structure of the work tasks, and to communicate with many stakeholders across the organization
  • Fluency in English
  • Previous knowledge is not a prerequisite, but you are curious to expand your knowledge within the world of capex projects, sustainability, technical topics, and the pharmaceutical industry. The position As our new intern, you will be involved and responsible for a broad variety of tasks and projects across our function to give you an overview of the different opportunities within IES. The exact tasks will depend on your preferences and need at the time of your starting date. On a high level you will be able to focus on 2-3 topics within the following fields:
  • Project Execution
  • Among Novo Nordisk capex projects the project execution model (PEM) is very well known as the one point of entry for requirements in line with our governance model, design standards, and validation procedures that are based on good engineering practices. It includes a long list of tools, best practices, and templates which we consciously evaluate and improve. For some of these improvements, you will be responsible to collect feedback across cross-functional stakeholder groups and eventually finding a good way of implementing them in our organisation.
  • Net zero roadmap
  • The goods and services we are sourcing in our function correspond to ~25% of Novo Nordisk’s scope 3 emissions. By 2045 these emissions should be reduced to zero. As part of this process, you will support our function with data analysis of the root causes of these emissions and interviews of suppliers for potential alternatives (decarbonisation levers). You will also get involved in preparing plans and presentations for relevant management groups.
  • Network events
  • As part of our aspiration, we drive change in capex projects. To ensure we focus on what is most valuable for our colleagues in the capex projects (commonly referred to as customers) to succeed in their projects, we host several events a year for networking and knowledge sharing. You will support the planning of these events, find relevant speakers, help prepare slides, gather feedback, and facilitate the event on the day.
  • Procurement activities
  • You will also be involved in some of our procurement activities such as follow-up on contracts, guarantees, and drafting contracts based on the templates we use. To get a better understanding of the business context you will also be able to participate in tenders and support the preparation of the tender material and evaluation of suppliers. Besides of this you will of course also be part of our daily Power breaks, offsites, and other social gatherings within our function. Practicalities:
  • Internship period: 6 months
  • Working hours: Full–time, 37 hours/week
  • Start date: August/September (flexible)

  • Danish full-time work permit is required
  • Internships are remunerated if your educational track allows. About the department Investment | Engineering & Sourcing (IES) is part of the Product Supply organisation. Product Supply is a modern technology organisation that proactively drives the purpose of Novo Nordisk and delivers the highest quality of products to patients in a sustainable and efficient way. In IES, we play a key role in ensuring that there is sufficient capacity to treat our patients worldwide. We are doing so by supporting our global capex projects succeeding in their projects through engineering and sourcing activities. When we talk about capex projects, we are referring to the maintenance and expansion of production facilities. As a function, we sit in the sweet spot between our global supplier base and our colleagues in the projects who are considered our customers. Due to the large growth in the overall company, we have also had a significant increase in capex spend and related projects that we are supporting. This situation gives a fantastic opportunity to strengthen the contributions we are delivering even more as well as drive change through the capex projects in line with the company aspirations.
