Then you might be our new head of Manufacturing and Technology Excellence in Product Supply for Injectable Finished Products.
The Department
Injectable Finished Products (IFP) plays a key role in delivering best in class, high quality products to our patients worldwide and is a strategic global network with production sites in United States, China, Brazil, France and Denmark. With approximately 7,700 employees and high volume and high efficiency production for all continents in the world, we maintain strong capacity to deliver our products globally. IFP holds the responsibility to produce all current products and for all new diabetes and obesity product launches. Given current and future market demands we are undergoing rapid capacity expansion. Our vision is to be at the forefront of manufacturing technology. This calls for fast and sustainable development of our Manufacturing and Technology Excellence across our current and future sites around the globe.
The Position
You will report directly to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of IFP and lead a team of approximately 100 globally. You will a be member of the IFP management team and act as a role model for the Novo Nordisk Way. The position is based in Bagsvaerd, Denmark. Travel will be 20 - 30% for the first year.
Key Responsibilities: Set strategic direction and build an organization that is seen as the natural point of development for the scaling and implementation of our Asset Management, Standardization, and Operational Readiness across the full IFP network, including all sites and Manufacturing Development (ManDev) Build and develop world class standards and capabilities Create global standards with global ownership that is executed locally at sites with clear responsibility and accountability Responsible for global fleet of lines, running in versions, with a high level of technology and automation Ensure close collaboration with all sites, ManDev, Procurement and Supply Chain Scale IFP production for future demand development Challenge solutions and speed of implementation Ensure compliance and quality in all initiatives Engage and involve all IFP site leadership teams in co-creating solutions Asset Management Development and implement Asset Management strategy Communicate and obtain local buy in on Asset Management strategy Build Asset Management organization and competencies Implementation of global process for Asset Management Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders Build databased predictive maintenance Systematic continued improvements, ensure close collaboration with shopfloor to maintain improvement culture Data management of Asset Management Asset Management methodology and organizational set-up (methods, structure, tools, techniques) inspired by other industries, where Asset Management is core to in their business model Changing the ownership of defined lines from local sites to global owner of “fleets of lines” managed in generations throughout the entire Life Cycle Management Achievement of operational and financial performance targets of the sites by changing ways of operating Capability building of sites leadership within Maintenance and Engineering Process group leads for relevant processes will move to this area Standardisation Develop global standards for Standardization methodology (methods, structure, tools, techniques) New sites - “greenfield” Sites with current / new lines - “brownfield” Rigorous Assets and technology standardization Capability building of sites and global functions and strong governance Operational Readiness Organizational blueprint for new sites to comply. This will be used as well by brownfield sites to evolve towards (or retrofit) Rigorous ramp-up process and hand-over management to enable sites to deliver expected performance. Sites will follow the ramp-up “cookbook” as a methodology for success Recruiting, on-boarding, capability building / up-skilling from front-line to leadership Validation and controlled execution of suppliers’ strategy Qualifications
You are an experienced leader within Manufacturing and Technology Excellence (Asset Management, Standardization and Operational Readiness) with the knowledge and passion for modern technology and production. You have experience with LEAN, digitalisation, change management and project management. You hold a relevant university degree (Engineering, Business, Etc.) and have a minimum of seven years of management experience, preferably at a functional level.
Experience and networks from other global manufacturing companies known for operational and manufacturing excellence is an absolute advantage, including industries outside of the pharmaceutical industry (aerospace, auto, industrial, technology, consumer goods, etc.).
You are recognised as an inspirational leader, with an analytic mind and are a great coach and mentor. You think strategically and can challenge management appropriately. You set clear strategic direction while building a positive and strong “can-do” culture. You naturally acquire followership and can communicate and work seamlessly on the shop floor, as well as with executive leadership.
