Then you could be the candidate we are looking for to lead our Biophysics and Injectable Formulation department 2. The position You will become part of a vibrant and dedicated leadership team where you will help set the direction for the Biophysics and Formulation CVP area. In this role, you will lead experts within biophysical characterization of peptides and proteins and development of injectable formulations. The department is part of shaping the future of biophysics and formulation at Novo Nordisk, ensuring that we prepare for new drug modalities and delivery technologies either by building new competencies or via collaboration with world-leading partners from academia and industry. Your main responsibilities include: Scoping of the scientific work required to advance our projects in alignment with stakeholders in the R&D organisation and to drive innovation and generation of new project ideas in the department. Identifying and spearheading data science and automation initiatives in close collaboration with application and data science areas. Setting the strategic direction and business targets for the department, developing people, and ensuring an inspiring and motivating working environment. You will collaborate closely with the leader of a sister department to achieve shared goals. Qualifications The preferred candidate has: A Ph.D. in natural sciences or life sciences and have at least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry or academia. A proven track record within biophysical characterisation and/or formulation development of peptides and proteins as demonstrated by publications/patents and an international network within the field. At least 2 years of people leadership experience and demonstrated strong leadership qualities. As a person, you display excellent collaboration and communication skills and an evident commitment to creating winning teams with a focus on continuous people development. You have a proactive and visible leadership style and the ability to set a clear direction in a complex environment. You are known and respected for a high level of personal engagement, drive, independence, and integrity. About the department The Biophysics and Formulation CVP area consists of 6 departments located in Måløv, Copenhagen area, Denmark and with planned expansions in the greater Boston area, US. The unit is responsible for biophysical screening and early injectable and oral formulation development of peptides, proteins, and new modalities across the entire Novo Nordisk research portfolio. We aspire to drive innovation by applying cutting-edge technology and biophysics and formulation expertise, and we are currently transforming the way we work via implementation of automated workflows and use of data science. The Department of Biophysics and Injectable Formulation 2 consists of 17 highly skilled employees comprised of 9 scientists at all levels and seniority and 8 experienced lab technicians.
