The position As Senior Director, you will: Shape the strategic direction of PMB, drive the organisational build, provide scientific input into the team’s deliverables, and be an inspirational leader Be accountable for the implementation of precision medicine and biomarker strategies across clinical development programmes Collaborate and have strategic alignment with key stakeholders across Development to ensure the timely delivery of business-critical biomarker data Keep the overview of development projects, adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges In this position, you will have a chance to impact the performance and development of your team and influence complex clinical project development strategies and activities by using your scientific expertise as well as your leadership capabilities, fuelled by your curiosity and entrepreneurship. Qualifications To thrive and succeed, we expect you to: Hold a PhD and/or MD with minimum 10 years’ experience from biotech or a pharma company or equivalent Have solid experience developing and implementing precision medicine and/or biomarker strategies to meet the need of clinical projects and/or therapeutic areas Be a skilled people manager with a track record of creating followership, developing talent, and promoting delivery through collaborative teamwork Have a pioneering, curious attitude to develop differentiated medicines to meet the unmet medical need of future patients Be comfortable leading in an innovative space at the intersection between science, medicine, and business Have a demonstrated ability and experience in driving strategic collaborations in the areas of precision medicine and biomarkers Preferably have a scientific or medical background in cardiometabolic diseases About the department You will head the PMD department, which is located, together with a Diagnostic Department, in the newly formed Precision Medicine, Biomarkers & Diagnostic Centre of Expertise (PMBD CoE) within Medical Science Innovation, Clinical Drug Development. Our commitment is to build a differentiated clinical pipeline with increased probability of success by matching medicines with those patients who will benefit most. As part of the corporate global R&D strategy and 5D (Drug, Device, Diagnostic, Digital, Data) product solution, the PMBD CoE is a growing area that will drive the increased mechanistic understanding of both treatment and disease supporting a precision medicine approach and potential diagnostic development.
