This is a super exciting role, and you as the Head of Business Finance Fleet Planning are responsible for optimizing the return on invested capital of Maersk's fleet of container vessels (720), 340 of which Maersk owns and services throughout the life cycles, and 380 are chartered.
The role reports directly to the Head of Business Finance, Fleet Management and Technology (FMT), who reports to the CFO, Fleet and Strategic Brands.

Key Responsibilities
You are responsible for setting strategic direction and building a roadmap to take Business Finance, Fleet Planning team to the next level by utilizing new tools, processes, and a spirit of continuous improvement.
Other key tasks:
- Owns the development of rolling forecast and business plan for fleet-related capital expenses including owned and chartered fleet.
- In partnership with key business stakeholders, coordinates development of detailed long-term fleet plan while optimizing full life-cycle economics of vessels when making acquisition and divestment decisions.
- Owns monthly and quarterly reporting of owned and chartered fleet information (Capex, Capacity, Decarb, new buildings and divestments etc.) to FMT senior management, and delivers actionable insights to support decision-making.
- In collaboration with Chartering, develop plans to execute the Fleet Portfolio strategy which may include formulating insights on relative lifecycle economics, reliability, and market dynamics by Planning Groups.
- Represent FMT finance in ad-hoc cross-functional strategic projects and take lead in driving analyses that optimize the financial and operational performance of Maersk’s fleet.
- Establishes and implements short- and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Lead a team of high-performing finance talent to pursue possibilities that will create sustainable value. Ensures that all team members are engaged, and motivated to work toward common goals.
- Fosters an environment that encourages and enables others to build skills and develop their careers. Provides timely and respectful feedback and coaching to help others' development.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate holds a Master’s Degree in Business, Economics, or a similar quantitative subject combined with a minimum of 7 years of work experience in analytical positions within Finance with a keen eye for problem-solving.
You are an experienced leader and have hands-on experience leading a high-performing team.
You have excellent communication skills and obtain buy-in from a wide range of stakeholders, including executive management.
