As Governance and Assurance Manager in Maersk you will be responsible for assisting and performing risk and compliance related process improvement activities and projects focused on identifying improvement in controls. You will review business practices and conduct internal process reviews to ensure compliance with established quality assurance processes, standards, and governance guidelines.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify need for and type of governance required in the form of policies, business rules, standards and ensure that these are defined, communicated and embedded in the organization
  • Create quality assurance playbook together with relevant Lines of Defense. Development of the quality management system documents (procedures, schemes, and other related documents)
  • Conduct reviews for L3 to L5 processes and highlight areas of risks and/or non-compliances to the standards
  • Understand business requirements and develop and interpret policies and procedures in relation to organizational priorities
  • Manage the quality assurance workflow to ensure on-time delivery of review findings.
  • Follow up to ensure corrective actions are achieved within agreed timescales
  • Serve as a resource to operational departments on audit or quality assurance subject matter
  • Provide the risk assurance on M&A integration activities

We are looking for:

  • Relevant Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field preferred
  • Certified in Process Excellence or a Six Sigma related continuous improvement program
  • 5-7 years knowledge of or experience with governance development and internal controls including business process documentation techniques preferred
  • A thorough knowledge of data organization, analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong problem solving, risk assessment and impact analysis abilities
  • Process improvement ambassador
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills. Ability to engage, inspire and influence people at all levels
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with senior management, executive management, and corporate office personnel
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner
  • Knowledge of ARIS (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Experience with Shipping/Logistics Business is a plus but not a requirement
  • Willingness to travel
