We are looking for a Laboratory Technician with experience in molecular techniques and cell-based assays (e.g. skills within viral infectivity assays, ELISA, TCID50, adhesive cell handling, qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction, Next Generation Sequencing or other gene editing skills). We need a Laboratory Technician to conduct Virus Analysis of the batches in Novo Nordisk where virus contamination is a concern.
The Position In your new role you will be responsible for conducting Virus Analysis assays in collaboration with the other Laboratory Technicians, Scientists and Specialists in the team. Our assays are virus detection using a cell-based approach and detection of mycoplasma by qPCR. Besides our main assays we also spend time on optimizations and develop new methods and techniques to align with future expectations from authorities and the growing pipeline of new drugs in Novo Nordisk. As an example, we are currently developing a method using Next Generation Sequencing technology, we are one of the first in the industry to apply it as a GMP test. You will be responsible for: Cell based assays using different cell lines and virus to detect for contamination in clinical batches and raw materials. qPCR assays for detection of virus and mycoplasma. Take part in the development work of new or optimized assays. Work with automation robots in the lab and digitalize our work procedures. Reviewing laboratory protocols and collaborate with responsible scientists. Production of media and reagents. Update and maintain our SOPs, Templates and Guidelines Make sure our laboratory is GMP compliant and ready for inspections. Planning of the laboratory work in collaboration with the other Laboratory Technicians Environmental Health and Safety work – possibly as working environment representative. You will work closely together with team colleagues as well as QA and your work will be equally divided between GMP assays including documentation and between development activities. Also, we are currently located in Gentofte, but are planning to move to Måløv within the next two years. Qualifications To be considered for this position, you should have: An education as a Laboratory Technician, Medical Laboratory Technician, or a relevant discipline. Experience working with adhesive mammalian cell lines, ideally with virus detection. Proficiency in qPCR and other biomolecular techniques. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Experience working in a GMP environment. Experience with automation robots within the laboratory and digitalization platforms. As a person, you are/have: Structured with a natural sense of priority. Positive and drives projects with a positive attitude Thriving in a dynamic work environment Interest in Environmental Health and Safety work Comfortable with both spoken and written English The Department The Virus Analysis team is part of the department Virology and Cell Banks which is part of CMC API Development. The department consists of almost 45 colleagues organized in 4 teams. The department is centered around patient safety and in the Virus Analysis team we support all development projects based on the mammalian cell platform. Your new team consists of 10 colleagues (5 Laboratory Technicians, 3 Development Scientist and 2 Specialists). We are situated in Gentofte together with one of the other teams in the department. We enjoy social interaction for example expressed through breakfast every Friday. In Viral Analysis we are dedicated, knowledgeable, fun and open-minded. As we recently switched to English as our working language, we are helping each other with communication.
