We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to join our Biomarker Identification department. If you hold a master´s degree in science and have a strong background working with in vitro cell systems, flow cytometry, and RNA (ribonucleic acid) extraction, then this might be just the right job for you. The position As our new associate scientist your key responsibility will be to support our research projects by establishing in vitro and ex vivo cellular systems to aid our work in identifying novel biomarkers. You will be part of a team of 16-18 highly skilled and self-motivated scientists and technicians, and you will be working in a lab with state-of-the-art analytical equipment for flow cytometry, RNA extraction and cell culturing. The position is a temporary 2-year full-time position, with a potential of becoming permanent. Your role will be to: Conduct a significant amount of laboratory-based work, primarily cell culture experiments RNA extraction, and flow cytometry Design and plan experiments to identify new biomarkers together with scientists in the department Identify and solve experimental issues Help maintain and develop our laboratory facilities and equipment Qualifications You hold a master´s degree in life sciences (biotechnology, immunology, biomedicine, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline) preferably with ≥ 2 years laboratory experience from an industry or academic setting You have solid hands-on experience working with flow cytometry and cellular assays You have experience with RNA extraction and/or work with extracellular vesicles Flair for programming or statistics will be considered an advantage You have a strong drive, a quality mindset, and a talent for troubleshooting You can communicate clearly in English both orally and in writing You do not hold a phD degree Good organisational skills, and the ability to develop innovative solutions to new challenges are essential. You have a strong commitment to high-quality analysis and data handling. As a person, you are ambitious, focused on results and thrive in a dynamic research environment. It is pivotal for your success in the position to demonstrate a flair for and interest in novel experimental methods and technologies and to have a flexible mindset. You have strong interpersonal networking capabilities and can communicate complex scientific procedures with technical proficiency. In addition, as a person you have a positive, curious, and collaborative mindset, and interpersonal skills that allow you to build fruitful relations to both colleagues and stakeholders. About the department The Biomarker Identification department is part of the Translational Research area within Global Translation , where it is responsible for identifying clinically relevant biomarkers and generating high-quality biomarker data to guide decision-making in research and early development. You will join a team of dedicated scientists and laboratory technicians who use diverse in vitro and omics technologies to develop biomarker strategies for e.g., diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease areas. Global Translation is an organisational area responsible for application of translational methodologies across all the therapy areas in Novo Nordisk. Global Translation is part of Novo Nordisk´s Research & Early Development and is located in Måløv, Greater Copenhagen.
