We are therefore recruiting a highly skilled laboratory technician to support our discovery pipeline within peptide and protein chemistry. As a member of our multi-national scientific team, you will collaborate with others on the development of innovative protein and peptides to ultimately improve the lives of people living with serious chronic diseases. The position We are searching for a skilled Laboratory Technician/Senior Laboratory Technician. The primary focus of the position will be in the early research pipeline, where research projects are matured. You will be working closely together with multiple colleagues in the early research phase in dedicated project teams, where the position is dedicated to laboratory-work with the responsibility of performing the synthesis and purification of peptides. In addition, you will take part in ensuring that our equipment is kept in good working conditions and you should be comfortable with performing instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. You will also assist in the development of novel automated workflows. Some of your main tasks will include: Planning and execution of synthesis and purification of peptides Analysis and characterization using UPLC, LC-MS and NMR Interpreting experimental data and preparing findings for discussion with the project chemistry teams Daily maintenance of instruments Development and implementation of novel automated workflows Qualifications To succeed in this position, you: Hold an education as a Laboratory Technician (Laborant) and ideally have experience from either industry or an academic setting. Have experience and knowledge within organic synthesis or peptide chemistry is required. Experience with automation is an advantage. Have a profound knowledge of standard analytical techniques (HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS, etc.) Are self-driven and organised, and proactively find solutions or seek guidance if challenges occur. Are motivated to expand your skill set and adapt new work routines in line with technological advances within your field of expertise On a personal level, you are a team player focused on contributing to a good working environment and succeeding together as a team. About the department Research Chemistry is a well-established area within Global Research Technologies, which is part of Research and Early Development. We excel in the discovery and development of multiple molecular formats aiming to defeat serious chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity. Design and synthesis of peptides and modified proteins are core elements of our daily work. We are expanding both within our core and new therapeutic areas, and Research Chemistry is therefore growing to continue supporting the discovery pipeline. In Måløv (Greater Copenhagen area, Denmark), where this position will be placed, we are organized into three departments sharing office and lab space and working together dynamically across departments. Furthermore, Research Chemistry comprises two departments in Boston, US.
