We are therefore recruiting a talented associate scientist to support our discovery pipeline within peptide and protein chemistry. As a member of our multi-national scientific team, you will collaborate with others on the development of innovative protein and peptides to ultimately improve the lives of people living with serious chronic diseases. The position We are searching for a highly skilled Associate Scientist. The primary focus of the position will be devoted to the early research pipeline, where research projects are initiated at matured towards further development. The job requires that you truly enjoy teamwork and embrace diverse thinking and personalities. It is expected that you will be able to represent Research Chemistry in research project teams and have a talent for spotting and implementation new chemistries and technology opportunities in our area. Some of your tasks will include: Designing, planning, executing and evaluating scientific experiments according to project needs Synthesis and modification of peptides and proteins, including purification and characterization using UPLC, LC-MS, as well as instrument maintenance and technological development Enable new chemistries and technologies Close collaboration with scientists and laboratory technicians as part of early research projects focused on identifying and optimising compounds towards lead candidate level Presenting research results and conclusions to project teams and departments Assisting in the development of novel automated peptide and protein synthesis and characterization workflows since the position is largely laboratory based. Qualifications You hold a master's degree in chemistry or closely related discipline with focus on organic and/or peptide/protein chemistry. Experience with automation is an advantage. About the department Research Chemistry is a well-established area within Global Research Technologies, which is part of Research and Early Development. We excel in the discovery and development of multiple molecular formats aiming to defeat serious chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity. Design and synthesis of peptides and modified proteins are core elements of our daily work. We are expanding both within our core and new therapeutic areas, and Research Chemistry is therefore growing to continue supporting the discovery pipeline. In Måløv (Greater Copenhagen area, Denmark), where this position is open, we are organized into three departments sharing office and lab space and working together dynamically across departments. Furthermore, Research Chemistry comprises two departments in Boston, US.
