A position as assistant professor in law for a period of 4 years is available at the Department of Food and Resource Economics with a particular view to further development of research and teaching within environmental law, animal law, food law and/or EU law. The law group at the Section for Consumption, Bioethics and Governance is responsible for teaching law courses at the Faculty of Science to non-law students. The law group conducts research in topics of particular relevance for the Faculty. You will be part of a well-functioning team and be able to develop your academic and personal skills in an interdisciplinary context challenged by active students and colleagues. Furthermore, establishment and maintenance of contacts and networks both within and outside academia is encouraged.
Applicants must have an academic degree within law as well as documented scientific qualifications such as a Ph.D. or equivalent in relation to the above subject area. Qualifications within one or more of the following scientific areas are required: environmental law, animal law, food law, EU law, administrative law or other relevant areas of law. Language skills in English as well as Danish are emphasised as teaching is in both English and Danish.
The assistant professor’s duties will primarily include research, including obligations with regard to publication/scientific communication and research-based teaching with associated examination obligations within law. To a limited extent this may also include performance of other duties.
Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, internationally competitive research. The ability to attract external funding will be considered together with outreach qualifications. Teaching qualifications are not mandatory but documented teaching qualifications and teaching experience will be considered.
Six overall criteria apply for assistant professor appointments at the University of Copenhagen. The six criteria (research, teaching, societal impact, organisational contribution, external funding and leadership) are considered a framework for the overall assessment of candidates.
