We have a four year, externally funded Industrial postdoc position available in the Immunology department at ALK for a project aiming: Developing novel strategies for treatment of food allergies. The proposed research work will be carried out at Global Research ALK in close collaboration with academic research groups in Denmark, Canada and Austria.
The position
ALK is looking for a talented, passionate postdoc to work in the Immunology Department. In this position, you will participate in research focussed on identifying novel drugs for preventing and treating Peanut and Tree-nut allergies. Your key scientific responsibility will be to initiate and drive in-vivo and ex-vivo experiments to support the lead identification and pre-clinical discovery research. You will be part of a high-performing team and will have the possibility of making a significant impact within food allergy Immunotherapy research.

The position

Your responsibilities will be to:
- Work on in-vivo model for peanut and tree-nut allergy and mode-of action studies
- Perform exploratory ex-vivo and in-vitro human studies
- Preparation and characterisation of Peanut, Tree-nut extracts and purified antigens
- Employ state-of-art techniques like Flow cytometry, Glomax, Fluorospot, HPLC, SDS-PAGE, Immunoblot, Multiplex based cytokine analysis
- Properly document study reports in compliance with ALK's policy
Your qualifications
You bring a Ph.D. in Immunology and a minimum of One year of post-doctoral experience or similar in Immunology / cell biology research. Moreover, we imagine you bringing:
- Experience within allergy research and documented publications in peer reviewed journals would be an advantage
- Ability to plan, execute in-vivo, human in-vitro and ex-vivo studies to evaluate the immunological properties of vaccine candidates and biomarkers
- Experience of protein biology, protein chemistry, expression of recombinant proteins would be an advantage.
- Experience in T-cell and B-cell immunology would be a clear advantage
- Experience with Multi-Color Flow Cytometry (FACS) would be an advantage
