Fertin Pharma is a contract development and manufacturing company supporting healthier living for millions of consumers by offering excellent products to brand and private label companies world-wide.
Fertin Pharma has a solid business within the Nicotine Replacement Therapy category. However, as part of our diversification strategy we develop and market solutions within a broader nutraceutical and pharmaceutical space, including CB (cannabinoids). Sensory tests and evaluations are an important part of Innovation and Product development in the aim of developing excellent products with active ingredients across formats such as gum, lozenge, melting tablets and pouches.
To strengthen our sensory competences and deliver on our ambitious strategic targets, we seek an experienced and passionate Sensory Scientist, who will bring solid knowledge about sensory testing and has experience with development and implementation of sensory methods. It will be a benefit if you have experience with conducting external and internal sensory tests, using trained panels, in either the nutraceutical or pharmaceutical industry. Fertin Pharma has sensory facilities designed with preparation areas and individual booths allowing our sensory Panel Leader and trained panelists to prepare and test products in optimal surroundings. It will be part of your responsibilities to guide our Panel Leader in conducting tests and maintaining our trained sensory panel. You will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Development R&D.
This position requires close collaboration with Scientists working with innovation and product development as well as stakeholders in Business Development, Project Management and Quality Assurance.
Main Responsibilities:
- You will be the primary contact for sensory designs and studies in Fertin Pharma
- You will implement optimum methodologies available in your sensory toolbox to meet strategy and project objectives regarding cost, timing, and resources available
- In collaboration with a Sensory Panel Leader, you will design, conduct, analyze and report sensory tests based on business and customer needs according to established internal sensory procedures
- You will ensure qualified trained panels for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical product evaluation by initiating appropriate training programs, monitoring panel performance, and ensuring that panel tests are performed according to standard procedures
- You will share knowledge regularly and promote sensory capabilities and results to internal and external stakeholders
About you:
You have a master’s degree in Food Science or equivalent theoretical background with focus on sensory science.
- You have good knowledge in a broad range of sensory methodologies, combined with experience in establishing and maintaining trained panels
- You have experience in sensory evaluation, experimental design and multivariate statistical analyzes
- Experience with sensory software (eg. FIZZ or EyeQuestion) is an advantage

You will take an important role as our Sensory Scientist who combine sensory studies with market trends and thereby aiming to anticipate and exceed consumer needs.
