As Energy Category Manager in the Maersk Procurement department, you will further work closely with other fuel sourcing entities in Maersk, the APMT and Maersk Decarbonization teams, terminals and suppliers to accelerate the decarbonization of APMT operations.

You will build a broad network and collaborative relationships to facilitate the switch to sustainable fuels, which you are responsible for sourcing, taking the unique requirements of each terminal into account.

You will be a key contributor to the continued development and implementation of APMTs energy and decarbonization strategy, just as you will build knowledge of local emission regulations and subsidy schemes.

The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark and some travel can be expected to visit terminals, regional offices or suppliers to engage with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for experienced project and/ or category manager who is passionate about energy transition and decarbonization, and has the will, curiosity, and experience to impact the business. Your responsibilities include:

  • Multi-Million USD $ vendor negotiations and offer evaluation based on APMT strategies and value for money evaluation criteria.
  • Planning and executing projects aimed at rolling out biofuels across the APM Terminals.

  • Development and implementation of fuel and lubricant category, sourcing, and risk management strategies.
  • Internal and external stakeholder management with a strong emphasis on creating partnerships and cooperation’s that create competitive advantage
  • Monitor current events in the oil and energy commodity markets and price developments and actively apply your knowledge to the category
  • Addressing day-to-day operational queries for APM Terminals within your area of responsibility.

Who we are looking for

Experienced category manager or project manager.

This position is well-suited to an individual with strong interpersonal skills, capable of developing and influencing internal and external relationships.

You must have a proven track record of planning and executing projects in an international matrix organization.

You have ideally worked with energy transition and/or sustainable fuels and have a good understanding of the industry, key technology trends and major/emerging players, but this is not a requirement.

You have a strong commercial mindset with a natural focus on achieving the most cost-effective solutions for the business.

Your educational background is BSc or MSc in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar.

Furthermore you:
Are a team player who enjoys working in a multicultural setting and understands the importance sharing knowledge and insights.

Have an entrepreneurial mindset and are good at balancing multidimensional stakeholder demands with the need for results. You feel comfortable challenging the status quo and are motivated to lead change.

Take ownership, work independently, have strong analytical skills, and are good at prioritizing your work.

You are flexible in adapting when priorities change.

Are an excellent communicator in English both in writing and in speaking.
