Project Engineer – electrical integration to control systems

If you have a background within electricity and interest within automation and control systems, we have the perfect job waiting for you. Your primary focus will be application programming of controllers for ABB's proprietary automation solutions with a corresponding focus on integration into the electrical systems. These cover a number of different communication protocols such as IEC61850, Goose, ModBus and MMS. An overall headline for your work will be green transition as your work directly will contribute to more efficient production processes and sustainable production of energy. As part of this, you will be involved in exciting Power-To-X projects where we and our partners break new ground at the very forefront of technology and innovation. You will primarily be part of major projects that involves a wide number of specialists in ABB and the customers’ organization – and you are on board from the very beginning as technical advisor to your sales colleagues via design, engineering and testing to final commissioning. As such, good planning, constructive dialogue and valuable knowledge sharing will be a natural part of your new job. Engineering Manager
Your responsibilities
- Contribute in projects from tender to commissioning with specialist focus on electrical integration
- Programming of process controllers (PLCs) and configuration of SCADA systems (800xA)
- Documentation of the solutions from design to test and installation
- Support solid commissioning of projects – contribute as specialist within your area of expertise
- Provide ad hoc support and troubleshooting to customers (minor task)
Your background
- A technical education that provides you with a good understanding of electric systems including switch boards
- Some knowledge of automation, power systems and engineering with additional motivation for developing your skills
- Basic programming skills and motivation for becoming expert within controller (PLC) programming
- Overview including the ability to apply a holistic understanding of a total project you are part of
- The ability to oversee a complex and modularly constructed system
- Motivation for direct dialogue with colleagues and customers
