About the department
LABs is a part of Manufacturing IT in Digital Data & IT organisation. In LABs you will be part of a highly engaged department working with IT systems for Product Supply, developing and improving systems which are core to the laboratory processes in Novo Nordisk. You will be participating in the operation, maintenance, and development of a global GxP critical IT system. You will be working with a team of colleagues both in DK and India, and you will have ample opportunity for professional sparring and best practice exchanges in your daily work. Furthermore, LABs is involved in projects with Product Supply, working closely together to ensure that business processes are adequately supported by IT systems as well as supporting Novo Nordisk on the QC 4.0 journey towards paperless labs.
The job The job as a business analyst entails working in close collaboration with our agile teams based in both Denmark and India. These teams are responsible for the globalLIMS and Empower systems. globalLIMS is an IT system used to plan and document laboratory analysis of our products. Empower is the global chromatography data software (CDS) used by laboratories in Product Supply Your main tasks would be to:
  • Engage with Line of Business (LoB) to gather, analyze, and document requirements and help to articulate these into solution designs that can be implemented by the agile teams.
  • Have the end to end process understanding between globalLIMS and Empower
  • Help the technical team to scope and design solutions that meet the user requirements
  • Offer 3rd level support for users i.e. understand their needs and issues to be resolved
  • Help in testing when changes have been made to the interface
  • Support during deviation and problem investigations that include deep dive investigations into system functionalities, business processes, dialogue with software developers as well as Quality Advisors etc to identify impacted areas/functionality as well as communication to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Product Management team on Super User Communication to ensure that users are always up-to-date in regard to new functionalities, new areas and other relevant information
  • Act as subject matter expert within both systems and work independently or together with other team members to analyze and resolve issues in both systems
  • Take part of System Releases in an Agile Setup, ensuring new functionality is in line with LoB requirements including update of relevant documentation such as requirements and user guides
  • Review validation documentation and help with test scripts as required
  • Support globalLIMS training team when needed
  • Qualifications
  • You hold a relevant educational background e.g. Laboratory Technician, Bachelor, Masters or equivalent in science, engineering or IT
  • You have a proven track record with minimum of 2 years of experience with Laboratory Information Management systems (LIMS), preferably as an end user, primarily the LabVantage software and Empower in large global organisations from the pharmaceutical industry, which has given you a solid analytic approach to problem solving
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • You preferably have some agile knowledge or training
  • You are service-minded, your structured way of working and general overview enables you to handle several tasks at a time and keep an ongoing focus on results. Being open minded and positive, you are a natural relation-builder to people across all organisational levels, geography and cultural differences. You have the ability and feel confident to collaborate with external parties, customers, vendors and consultants. To succeed it is also crucial that you thrive on working independently as well as part of a team. You need to be fully proficient in English both written as well as spoken and a solid communicator with a strong personal dedication and ambition. In addition, you must have strong work ethic and willingness to take responsibility and drive success.
