Global Contract Manufacturing and Emerging Technologies Quality Assurance (GCM & ET QA) is an important area within NNQ. We are responsible for end-to-end quality oversight of:
• All global Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) supporting Novo Nordisk
• Novo Nordisk Oral platform and Emerging technologies
• Quality integration of companies and assets acquired through business development
We are a global and growing team of approximately 150 employees with quality assurance expertise across CMO operations, integration of new technology platforms into production and post due diligence integration activities. We ensure the quality mindset across our value chain within and outside of Novo Nordisk.
The Position
The Corporate Vice President reports to the Senior Vice President of Novo Nordisk Quality and is a member of the Novo Nordisk Quality Management Team and the Global Contract Manufacturing Management Team. You will be overall responsible for the management of quality assurance across the network of Novo Nordisk CMOs as well as integration of new technologies and platforms. This includes all CMO quality assessments, QMRs, quality oversight and product release from CMOs in operation. You are the escalation point for all CMO quality issues and manage all senior stakeholders responsible for quality at the CMOs and internally. You will also be accountable for the assessment and introduction of new CMOs into Novo Nordisk, whether it is for product pipeline, capacity expansion for existing production or integration from mergers and acquisitions.
Regarding integration of new technologies and platforms, you will be responsible for overall quality of emerging technology platforms received by Novo Nordisk including maturing and scaling these for market production, typically through use of CMOs. This scope includes proteins, peptides in oral solid dosage forms, small molecules, gene therapy and other new emerging technology platforms. In addition, you will own NNQ due diligence and integration activities supporting optimal value creation of Novo Nordisk Business development activities.
As a leader you leverage your leading-edge expertise of CMO and Quality Assurance to set strategic direction and drive performance. You are able to build and maintain trusted relationships with key internal and CMO stakeholders and influence across levels. You value diverse perspectives. At the same time, you also empower and support your team of six direct reports to lead, manage and develop their teams to achieve high performance.
The position is based in Bagsvaerd, Denmark. The role has a global reach with CMOs across the world. Office presence expected at minimum three days weekly. Global travel activity to be expected at roughly 20%.
Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in this role, we expect you to have:
• Master of Science degree in Natural Sciences such as Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Engineering or the like
• Significant CMO experience (working with or for CMOs)
• Solid GMP quality assurance experience
• Knowledge and experience from core processes in the biotechnological or pharmaceutical industry preferably including aseptic production
• Strong leadership experience at the senior management level
• Strong track record of delivering business results
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work, build relationships and trust on all levels of an organisation and in different cultures
• Cultural understanding and intercultural communication skills
• High personal integrity
• Fluent in English, with good communication skills oral and written
