About the department
LABS is a part of Digital Data & IT organisation. In LABS you will be part of a highly engaged department working with IT systems for Product Supply, developing and improving systems which are core to the laboratory processes in Novo Nordisk. You will be participating in the operation, maintenance, and development of a global GxP critical IT system. You will be working with a team of colleagues both in DK and India, and you will have ample opportunity for professional sparring and best practice exchanges in your daily work. Furthermore, LABS is involved in projects with Product Supply, working closely together to ensure that business processes are adequately supported by IT systems as well as supporting Novo Nordisk on the QC 4.0 journey towards paperless labs.
The job Empower is the global chromatography data software (CDS) used by laboratories in Product Supply. Chromatography is the most common analytical technique in the laboratories today with more than 200 samples sets being analysed daily. The system has both a GxP and non GxP version and supports 1500 users with around 800 instruments connected to it.
In addition to Empower you will also support our other CDS systems (Chromeleon and Lab Solutions) which in combination have roughly over 300 users, and 50 equipment connected to them. The CDS team is mainly located in India and consists of a system manager and 3-4 team members. Your main tasks would be to: Be close to LoB and facilitate decision making with the stakeholders and system owner Help the team to keep the system stable and keep up with changes from the vendors Support in assessing and communicating the impact of observations from audit Support interface changes between Empower and other systems (LIMS, Chromeleon and Bayeschrom). Support with work on equipment linking to Empower Participate actively in the global Empower technical group which focuses on utilizing full system potential and sharing learnings on inspection findings Work closely with the CDS team and support in test activities, releases and other activities Support Bayeschrom project in their testing and release activities Support the roadmap for Empower GXP which includes having a major version upgrade, moving to cloud as well as onboarding new projects to Empower which will result in new systems to be connected as well as new users Support during problem investigations that include deep dive investigations into system functionalities, business processes, dialogue with the team and LoB etc to identify impacted areas/functionality as well as communication to stakeholders Collaborate with the Product Management team on changes affecting other systems within LABs Candidate profile You hold a relevant educational background e.g. Bachelor, Masters or equivalent in science, engineering or IT You have worked as a chemist Good understanding of chromatography process You have a proven track record with minimum of 2 years of experience with Empower or other CDS systems in large global organisations from the pharmaceutical industry Have the end-to-end process understanding between global LIMS and Empower would be a huge advantage You preferably have some agile knowledge or training You are service-minded, your structured way of working and general overview enables you to handle several tasks at a time and keep an ongoing focus on results. Being open minded and positive, you are a natural relation-builder to people across all organisational levels, geography and cultural differences. You have the ability and feel confident to collaborate with external parties, customers, vendors and consultants.
