The Position As the project manager in Safety Data Science, you will be an integral part of our Safety data science team, which focuses on exploring, developing, operationalizing, and delivering innovative and effective IT solutions to automate and augment traditional methodologies used for identifying and monitoring risks to patient safety. In this role you will work in close collaboration with both Safety Data Scientists/Engineers and Safety Surveillance Advisors. Your primary responsibilities as project manager will be to:
  • Lead safety data science projects involving real world data sources, data analytics, machine learning, and automation of pharmacovigilance activities, such as signal detection, risk management, reporting, and quality assurance.
  • Co-ordinate the design, development, validation, and implementation of data science solutions using AWS/Azure cloud services.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across Novo Nordisk with different areas responsible for collecting and monitoring safety data, epidemiology, regulatory affairs, and other data science units, to better understand business needs and provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Developing business cases for management approval and stakeholder management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • Communicate and present project results and insights to internal and external audiences.
  • You will report to the Director of Safety Surveillance Reporting where the Safety Data Science team is anchored. The position is based in Søborg in Greater Copenhagen Area. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • At least 3 years of experience working within the pharmaceutical industry, ideally within clinical drug development or drug safety.
  • Excellent project management skills combined with experience in leading IT projects/solutions end to end.
  • A higher degree in a biological/pharmaceutical science/medicine (PhD, MSc or equivalent), or have a relevant degree with work experience in the medical or pharmaceutical.
  • Certification in project management, such as the Project Management Professional (PMP) or the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or equivalent work experience would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and multicultural environment.
  • To excel in this role, you should have a high level of attention to detail, quality, and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Additionally, a strong sense of curiosity, creativity, and innovation is crucial, along with the ability to rapidly acquire new skills and adapt to emerging technologies. About the Department Safety Data Science is a newly established role within Global Safety. You will become part of a small and highly specialized team imbedded in the Safety Surveillance that works on various projects related to digital transformation, analytics, and artificial intelligence to maximize domain expertise (end-to-end understanding pharmacovigilance regulations, processes, methodologies, and data sources) and address business needs. Safety Data Science is an integral part of the wider Data Science organization across different functional areas in Novo Nordisk. Safety Surveillance is a global organization including more than 120 people with a medical/life science background who are responsible for monitoring the safety of all Novo Nordisk’s products (marketed and under development) to detect and evaluate signals of safety concern, and where necessary, take appropriate actions to minimize risks to for patients.
