The Corporate Vice President will report to the Senior Vice President, Global Solutions. The position is based in Novo Nordisk HQ in Denmark.
The Position
The Corporate Vice President (CVP) for Corporate Procurement is responsible for global indirect spend. With a highly professional team, the CVP ensures efficient procurement services and effective supplier contract management for the company. The CVP will drive the standardization of procurement transaction processes on a global level, leveraging scale, automation, and process improvements to decrease cost per transaction. As the global process owner of Novo Nordisk indirect procurement value chain, the team oversees all aspects of sourcing, contracting, purchasing, invoice management, and supplier relationship management. The CVP for Corporate Procurement will be responsible for driving the globalization of procurement and ensuring the fulfilment of the Global Procurement Strategy, which involves identifying opportunities, delivering global procurement savings, and mitigating risks.
Key Responsibilities Being an inspiring and experienced leader within the procurement discipline Dealing with multiple senior stakeholders across functions Safeguarding a healthy balance between solving running procurement issues and establishing strong future proof sourcing strategies & structures. Continuous focus on professional development of the Corporate Procurement function, including development of organisation and people, and ensuring succession preparednessEnsuring an effective NN global indirect procurement organization and operation Chairing the Global Procurement Forum with focus on Global Procurement Strategy and ensuring a high level of purchasing professionalism across the Novo Nordisk procurement community Coordinating spend overviews across Novo Nordisk globally to provide strategic and ad-hoc analytical reporting, analyses, and recommendations for new business activities to key stakeholders Designing and inventing new processes and tools which have a profound impact on how the Novo Nordisk collaborates with suppliers and on how Novo Nordisk employees’ daily work activities are supported Implementing major change management projects involving both Novo Nordisk line of business and suppliers using a broad range of communication Ensuring adherence to external GxP requirements within indirect suppliers Support Novo Nordisk Circular for zero strategy by heading towards zero environmental impact from suppliers Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in this role, we expect you to have: Master’s degree in procurement, business, finance, supply chain or similar 10+ years of experience working in the procurement area 10+ years of senior leadership experience, including experience within procurement, supply chain, finance, or the like Experience working with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, R&D, or production Strong cross functional leadership skills, including an ability to navigate across boundaries, build relationships and trust as well as obtain commitment from both internal and external stakeholders Willingness and courage to ‘constructively dissent’ and challenge senior management thinking on key procurement issues Strong people management skills Fluency in written and spoken English International experience from multinational organizations is desired About the Department
Corporate Procurement is anchored within the Global Solutions area, which reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Novo Nordisk. The Corporate Procurement department builds strategies and executes improvement projects to optimize the global indirect spend of more than DKK 50 billion related to Facility Management, R&D activities, marketing services, travel, professional advisory services, and IT. Team size is app. 140 employees in Denmark and 2 indirect reporting teams of app. 150 employees in total in Global Business Services in India.
