We are seeking an individual who will drive business needs and opportunities across the portfolio of our strategic alliances to meet our future ambitions; build and cultivate relationships and partnerships with the brightest scientific minds and innovators; and manage alliances that may create tomorrow’s breakthrough medicines to improve the lives of people living with chronic disease.In addition to leading the team, you will have responsibility for: • Implementing strategic initiatives to enhance our alliance management capability to grow our reputation as a premier alliance partner
• Establishing and role-modeling best practices for Alliance Management in Novo Nordisk and driving engagement in the company-wide Alliance Management community
• Managing and optimizing the value of strategic alliances across Novo Nordisk development and commercial, ensuring partnerships deliver value according to agreed goals and objectivesQualifications• MA/MSC degree with content focus on e.g., international business, stakeholder management, business communication, or natural sciences
• 10 or more years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology organizations and business development and/or alliance management with a thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical value chain and business, especially IP, development, regulatory, manufacturing and marketing processes and matters
• Demonstrated track record of driving Alliance Management methodology and capability development in the pharmaceutical industry
• Demonstrated track record of managing pharma collaborations / alliances, creating strong professional networks and building rapport with external partners and internal stakeholders
• Strong understanding of Novo Nordisk’s therapeutic and commercial areas preferred
• Firm understanding of multicultural impact on business relationships including experience in working in an international context and environment
• Proven track record of leadership or people management experience
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time, including internationally is required.The successful candidate will: enjoy challenging perceptions, ways of working and driving change; have interpersonal skills and can collaborate cross-functionally, across organizations and cultures; enjoy taking initiative and have a strong personal drive and dedication to work and to people; have a strong ability to manage and resolve complex issues and conflicts and bring a can-do attitude. In addition, we are seeking a strong leader of people, a communicator who demonstrates proactive stakeholder management at all levels, and a person who understands the value of structure and systematization and can successfully navigate in a global matrix organization.

About the DepartmentCorporate Alliance Management handles a complex portfolio of strategic external alliances across the value chain with focus on clinical and commercial stage and across therapeutic areas in Novo Nordisk. Responsibilities include leading the strategic discussions and decision-making processes to effectively lead external collaborations and partnerships. We are currently building a team anchored in Integration & Strategic Alliances in Corporate Development based in Novo Nordisk’s Headquarters in Bagsværd, Denmark.Corporate Development is the corporate strategy and business development unit of Novo Nordisk.
