Apply today and join us for a life-changing career.    The Position As the Head of Development Operations, you will spearhead the creation of a new and dynamic team within Development. The team will be responsible for shaping the course for and ensuring a coordinated approach towards Development's evolving operating model and expanding global footprint. This, among others, includes outlining and executing on a strategy for Development’s global expansion e.g. through use of dedicated hubs. You will be responsible for:
  • Driving cross-functional projects and change initiatives of high complexity.

  • Directing communication towards stakeholders including senior leadership, ensuring strategic alignment and buy-in.

  • Building a shared understanding of the current state across areas, which can serve as a basis for outlining and facilitating decision making towards a common vision.

  • Overseeing execution, ensuring a coordinated effort across areas and that we jointly progress towards the vision.

  • Acting as a trusted sparring partner to leadership and collaborate closely with key stakeholders both within Development and across the value chain in Novo Nordisk.

  • Defining what capabilities are needed to deliver on the above and building a strong team to do so.

  • Qualifications To succeed in this role, you have:
  • Master in a relevant field in combination with above 8-10 years relevant work experience, preferably from the pharmaceutical industry

  • Significant leadership experience with a track record of developing and leading teams

  • Extensive project management expertise with a strong track record of driving cross-functional projects as well as change management initiatives

  • Experience with collaboration across functions and organisational levels including experience in interacting with senior leadership

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Solid analytical skills and a strategic mindset

  • Scientific / medical understanding is an advantage, but not a requirement

You have a positive, “can-do” attitude and enjoy developing and being a part of high-performing team focused on cross-functional collaboration, sparring and joint problem solving.   About the department Development is an Executive Vice President area in Novo Nordisk with the responsibility of developing and maturing innovative treatment solutions in the form of drugs, devices, and digital companions to improve lives of people with diabetes and other serious chronic diseases, with a strong ambition to be the best in the world at doing this.   In Development Strategy & Operations, we support the Development organisation in setting and achieving its strategic aspirations. We drive and take part in strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives across Development as well as the full Novo Nordisk value chain.
