Combineering is a greentech development company that converts waste and residues from public and private companies into new raw materials. Combineering won “EY Entrepreneur of The Year 22” award in the Sustainability category, and they work very innovatively with highly specialised knowledge in recycling, circular economy, environmental legislation, transport, and logistics.
As COO at Combineering, you will become responsible for the organisation’s daily operation, ensuring effectiveness and quality across all operational functions and logistics. The enormous transport volumes will grow by 1 million tons in 2024 internationally. All transportation forms are used; vessels, trains, containers, and trucks. This includes first mile, main carrier, and last mile, plus relevant documentation.
To meet Combineering’s ambitious growth goals and ability to scale the business, it is necessary to hire an experienced and strong Chief Operating Officer (COO) with direct report to the CEO to be in charge of a competent team of operations and logistics specialists.
Your main tasks are:
You have experience managing operational functions at a high level from international organisations, preferably within technically complex solutions, sales, and/or production. It is essential to have a comprehensive understanding of complex global logistics setups, to navigate the complexity of regulatory and legal frameworks, as well as being a strong negotiator of competitive logistic solutions internationally.
It will be an advantage if you have experience with circular economy and sustainable business practices. Alternatively, you have experience in a regulated industry such as biotech, pharma, or similar.
You are an experienced leader who can motivate a team of highly qualified specialists at multiple sites with cross-cultural employers. Having experience from international logistics companies and know-how on bulk vessels, liner containers, rail, and trucks is advantageous. Preferably, you hold a relevant technical education, maybe also a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or a similar advanced business- or management education.
You are a person with excellent problem-solving skills and strategic and tactical thinking. It is essential to be a strong communicator and be able to handle conflicts and make difficult decisions. You have demonstrated the ability to drive change and innovation.
