We are now looking for a

Fuel Purchasing Manager

to join our Purchasing Team as the manager for the Finnish team.

Adven is seeking a highly organized and skilled Fuel Purchasing Manager to develop and manage the company’s purchasing activities within its Finnish fuel organization.

In this position you will be reporting to VP Fuels, as well as lead the Finnish purchasing team. In addition to the Finnish purchasing organization, your closest colleagues will be in the Swedish purchasing organization.

Your key responsibility is to make sure our plants are cost efficiently supplied with base fuel. In order to get there, you need to develop and implement strategies, policies, processes, and management structure.

On operational level, in addition to leading your team, you also in your part will identify potential vendors, evaluate them based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities as well as negotiate contracts and agreements.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and especially work with the plants to prepare and advise them for the changes in fuel markets. You are an important link between the fuel market and our operational organization, making sure Adven as total is able to utilize the full potential of existing operations.

To succeed in this role, you need:

good knowledge of fuel and energy markets
valid purchasing (or selling) experience within fuels sector
competence of contract terms and structures
understanding of purchase processes and its relevant KPI:s
both strategic and operational mind-set and capacity
effective communication, negotiation, and project management skills
at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
excellent English and Finnish skills
experience of manager positions is of advantage
you can locate to our office in Vantaa, Jyväskylä, Seinäjoki or Oulu
