Associate Manager Isotope Chemistry

The Position
As an Associate Manager for the Isotope Chemistry team, you will lead a team of 9 experienced scientists and laboratory technicians who manufacture a diverse range of radiolabeled drug substances in our facility, where organic synthesis methods are applied to incorporate the radioactive isotopes 3H, 14C or 125I. The team is also in charge of GMP manufacturing of radiolabeled API for clinical testing in micro dosing studies and phase 1 clinical studies. The leadership team you will be part of consists of one Vice President, one Director and three Associate managers. We meet weekly and discuss specific topics on a day to day basis. Your main tasks will be to: Set direction and drive culture for your team Communicating clearly and effectively both with the team and stakeholders Ensure that your team lives up to current and future organizational goals Ensure that your team lives up to the cGMP requirements Monitor and evaluate the progress of projects and deliveries Support the team’s continuous development of innovative methods and ideas Motivate and develop employees and team In this job you will have opportunities to grow personally and professionally by developing your leadership competencies at the same time as you increase your scientific and business insight. Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you have: A Master’s degree or PhD in organic chemistry, chemical engineering, protein chemistry or similar Leadership experience Experience within radioactive labelling, organic chemistry, pilot production and/or cGMP is an advantage English and Danish communication skills You have an innovative and flexible mind-set. You like to develop, involve, and motivate your team members and can communicate and collaborate effectively across disciplines. You understand that team performance and wellbeing are interlinked. You want to succeed as a team with your leadership colleagues. About the Area
As part of Novo Nordisk’s Product supply family, Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) makes a significant difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world. We develop, manufacture, and distribute drug candidates for non-clinical and clinical trials with the help from approximately 1500 CMC employees. We develop and formulate all new protein processes, coming out of our research unit and through that we ensure best-in-class treatments to the market. CMC Development is organized in six areas of expertise supporting the entire drug development pipeline. Chemical Development consists of more than 80 employees, divided into four teams and one department. The area contributes to the delivery of chemical and semi-recombinant APIs, including synthetic peptides, oligonucleotides, small molecules, as well as novel excipients. Furthermore, the department is responsible for development of chemical intermediates and starting materials for the modification of recombinant peptides and proteins. New technologies, to support our pipeline with sustainable processes, are also being pursued internally and externally in collaboration with business partners and academia.
