We are seeking a laboratory technician for the Cell Therapy Analytics and Formulation department. About the department The department Cell Therapy Analytics and Formulation is a part of Novo Nordisk’s Cell Therapy R&D (Research & Development) unit, where we develop novel stem cell-based replacement therapies for the treatment of serious chronic diseases. Our department focuses on the development of analytical methods and characterization of Cell Therapy Drug Products as well as formulation development to aid the delivery of the Cell Therapy Drug Products to the patients. Diabetes mellitus type 1, Parkinson’s disease and chronic heart failure are only some of the indications currently in the pipeline. You will join an international and dedicated Cell Therapy CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control) division of more than 70 employees, including scientists, project leaders, laboratory technicians and student workers. We have expertise in analytical development, bioprocess development, stem cell biology and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliance and genuinely believe that cell therapies will make a difference in the lives of patients. The position We are looking for an experienced laboratory technician to support the department with the formulation development for our Cell Therapy products. Your main responsibility will be to prepare and run experiments that you plan together with a team of scientists. Tasks will include preparation of solutions for rheological measurements as well as sterile formulations for cell characterization, running of samples for rheological measurements and to ensure biochemical compatibility (osmolarity, pH, etc.) and to maintain cell cultures for analysis of small-scale experiments. You will independently perform laboratory work, analyse, and compile data and contribute to general lab maintenance activities. Qualifications You are a trained laboratory technician or hold a similar degree and have experience in some or all the following areas: Preparation of formulations and/or viscous solutions Mechanical and rheological evaluation of samples Characterization techniques for particle counting (could be MFI, DLS or similar) Cultivation of mammalian cell lines In addition, you should be proficient in the following skills: Experience in working in a biological laboratory environment including maintaining, ordering, and organizing laboratory supplies and ensuring maintenance of equipment. Experience in maintaining organized and detailed up-to-date electronic lab notebook records. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Work experience within the biotech or pharma industry would be a plus. You are open-minded and likes to challenge decisions and participate in discussions around laboratory experiments. You are detail-oriented, reliable and have a quality mindset. You are a true team-player who enjoys working in close collaboration with colleagues in and out of the laboratory.
