Novo Nordisk is expanding our portfolio of innovative treatments for millions of people living with serious chronical diseases. For 100 years ago we started developing and producing treatments to change the life of people living with diabetes. Since then, we have continuously been improving our treatments and we have been expanding into new therapy areas to treat people with chronical diseases like haemophilia, growth hormone disorders and obesity - and many others in the future.That journey has increased the complexity of the supply chain strategy, long-term planning and design of new supply chains, and we are therefore strengthening the global supply chain organisation by establishing a new area: Supply Chain Strategy & Design (SCSD). SCSD will be responsible for the long-term strategy (10 years ahead) and readiness of new supply chains to deliver current, new and future treatments to patients. SCSD will have a close link to the supply chain organisation that is responsible for logistics & distribution, operational & mid-term planning as well as digitalising of the Supply Chain.Currently SCSD consists of highly skilled knowledge leaders in Supply Chain design and two functional teams: Capacity Planning & Supply Chain Design. The stakeholder landscape is most of the global functions in the value chain e.g., research, clinical development, commercial, manufacturing and sales.The Job
As head of SCSD you will have a direct report to the Senior Vice President for Finance and Supply Chain in Product Supply, Quality and IT (PSQIT). You will lead a management team and an organisation of engaged supply chain experts that are responsible for proactively designing future supply chains that ensures efficient and sustainable delivery of treatments to our patients. In addition, you will be responsible for driving the long-term capacity planning to ensure alignment between long-term sales forecast and production capacity that complies with our Manufacturing and Supply Chain principles.You will get a key role in connecting clinical development, production, and our commercial organisation by being close to your stakeholders and by creating transparency in decision making for senior management. In connection to that, your team will develop the processes, structures and competencies required to ensure that we are ahead of future needs to support the growth of Novo Nordisk and successfully have new supply chains established. In addition, you will be a member of the Supply Chain & PSQIT Finance management team and the Global Supply Chain Leadership team, and you will collaborate closely with supply chain teams across the global functions in Novo Nordisk and in Product Supply.Developing a culture that makes your organisation strive for innovation and optimisation of the processes and deliverables will be a key for you to bring most value to the business. You are expected to ensure a strong network and collaboration across the organisation, at the same time, drive high engagement and motivation in your department.The department is based in Copenhagen (Denmark) where most of your time will be spent. Global travel activity is to be expected.Qualifications
You are a senior business leader within supply chain, preferably in a regulated industry with a complex supply chain. Furthermore, you are used to advise c-suite leaders and manage senior stakeholders across the value chain.You are recognised as a transparent leader and for your ability to create psychological safety that fosters an open and innovative culture where your team feels empowered to take responsibility and make decisions. You are also recognised for your high ambitions and your diplomatic and assertive way of managing both your team and your stakeholders.
