Research Associate – Antibody Design Do you have experience with antibody or nanobody sequence, structure, function or previous experience of antibody or nanobody discovery and development in an industrial or academic setting? The Position We are currently seeking talented scientists to join our team in Måløv, Denmark to join our team as a research associate and work collaboratively with other computational and experimental teams to design and develop novel antibodies. In this position, you will collect, annotate, and analyse data, develop pipelines and front-end solutions to design and analyse antibodies. You will use python and/or other programming languages, together with standard data science libraries, to collect and structure experimental data, as well as computational tools such as molecular modelling and simulations, sequence and structure analysis, and machine learning tools to design and optimize antibody and nanobody candidates. In addition, you will use your strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and collaborate with team members to achieve our goals. As a Research Associate, your key responsibilities will be to: Drive innovative and creative solutions to design novel antibodies or nanobodies in concert with other departments. Work collaboratively with team members to achieve project goals. Work closely with relevant teams to translate best-performance techniques into production. Use existing tools or develop novel ones to design and engineer antibody variants with improved functionality. Integrate experimental results with computational models to accelerate the antibody discovery process. Generate and store ML ready data from antibody projects. Perform computational analyses and simulation on large data sets using HPC resources. Document and effectively communicate the discovery and innovation process to key stakeholders and managers. Encourage, propose, and participate in projects boosting the use of advanced computational techniques for antibody design. Stay up to date with the latest developments in computational biology and antibody/nanobody design. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you should hold: Master’s or bachelor’s degrees required. Degree within Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related field. 0-2 years of experience in data science applied to protein sequence and structure data, or in clinical or industrial antibody/nanobody development. More experienced scientists are also encouraged to apply. Good understanding of antibody or nanobody sequence, structure, function, and their development in an industrial setting. Good interpersonal skills: communication, group work, goal-oriented. Solid experience of relevant computational tools, including but not restricted to Python programming, data science libraries (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, or similar), sequence analysis, and machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, Azure ML, or similar). Experience in usage of HPC solutions (aws, azure, or similar). Experience in B-cell Rep-Seq and scRNA-Seq analysis is a plus. About the Department Our Antibody Design Department is part of the Digital Science and Innovation (DSI) area at Novo Nordisk, located in Måløv (Denmark), Oxford (UK) and Seattle (US). We use innovative computational tools and techniques to design novel antibodies and nanobodies. Our team works collaboratively across various departments, within and outside Research and Early Development, to deliver safe and effective antibody therapies to patients.
