The University seeks to appoint a clinical professor of Psychiatry with special focus on Early Detection of Psychosis to commence as soon as possible. The externally funded professorship is combined with a consultancy at Department of Psychiatry East, Roskilde, at the Mental Health Service in the Zealand Region.
It is a requirement for appointment that the applicant is accepted for both the professorship and the consultancy. In order to be considered for the position, the applicant must send two applications: one to the Faculty (the professorship) and one to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the consultancy. This also applies to applicants who are already employed as consultants at the Hospital. Job description
In the consideration of applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant's ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area of Psychiatry.
The professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of:

Terms of employment
The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of five years.
For the professorship the appointee will receive a pensionable annual salary of 199,527.05 DKK (1 April 2023 level).

Job description
In the consideration of applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant's ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area of Psychiatry.
The professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of:
- Research, including publication/academic dissemination focused on clinical assessment and interventions, i.e. early detection of psychosis, the patients’ course into the treatment system, psychopathological staging, self-disorders, psychotherapy, psychopharmacology and psychosocial interventions for specific symptom profiles.
- Research-based teaching – Pre-graduate teaching in Psychiatry as lectures, student activating teaching (tutorials), including associated examinations and thesis supervision. Participation in educational development of the Psychiatry curriculum for the Master of Science (MSc) in Medicine, Region Zealand. Teaching and training of specialist trainees in Psychiatry and PhD-students in research methods, psychopathological assessment and treatment.
- Research leadership – The candidate is expected to have and expand own research group based on basic internal funding and applications for external funding. The candidate is expected to participate in ongoing research in the Mental Health Service within the research theme Psychotherapy & Psychopathology. In the latter, the candidate should build own cross-regional research-clinical interest group with a relevant subtheme. The candidate is expected to collaborate broadly nationally and internationally for large-scale strategic funding applications, and to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate.
