As Head of Diabetes Health Equity, you will develop and drive the company’s strategies which ensure access to affordable care for those in need. In doing so, you will work with and across the business, senior management and external stakeholders. With a challenging and innovative approach, you will ensure Novo Nordisk sets and achieves the right ambition level to improve health equity within diabetes across low- and middle-income countries. You will represent Novo Nordisk externally and sometimes in very challenging environments. Your main tasks will include:
  • Integrating considerations of health equity and social responsibility in diabetes into how we operate and develop our business (e.g., addressing fundamental topics including patient reach, impact and related targets or pathways)
  • Driving and further developing our humanitarian strategy, including our donation efforts, humanitarian partnerships and response to humanitarian crises globally
  • Ensuring that diabetes health equity and social responsibility is integrated into our diabetes therapy area strategy in close collaboration with Public Affairs and Commercial Strategy
  • Expanding the reach of the Changing Diabetes® in Children program
  • Representing Novo Nordisk externally, building and maintaining strong relationships and collaboration with key, strategic external partners and key opinion leaders (KOLs), patient associations, multilaterals, and organisations in the global health and humanitarian community
  • You will be leading a team of approximately 10 colleagues. Travel will be required 20+ days per year. Relocation package included. Qualifications
  • 7+ years business experience working with access and affordability or a similar field in a commercially relevant organisation. Experience from international pharmaceutical companies of similar complexity to Novo Nordisk is preferred
  • 3+ years line management experience with a proven track record of developing a team in a leadership role
  • Experience developing and implementing strategy in a global organisation
  • A track record of successfully driving complex, high-level stakeholder management (e.g., via public affairs)
  • A relevant Master’s degree (e.g. economics, business administration, social sciences, engineering, or biological, medical or pharmaceutical science)
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • As a person you are proactive, independently minded executive with strong decision-making power. As a highly skilled communicator, you will bring a demonstrated ability to influence, create buy-in and generate engagement across an organisation and with the highest levels of leadership within both internal and external organisations and networks. As a leader, you will bring the ability to motivate change, develop individuals, and encourage high performance with a focus on driving sustainability together with commercial business results. You will bring innovative approach to access and affordability, proposing novel approaches to resolve key challenges related to access to care while looking across the full value chain and considering, for instance, digitalisation, partnerships and supply chains. About the Department
    Based in Bagsværd, Global Public Affairs & Sustainability (GPAS) is a global team of 100 people in five areas: Global Health Equity, Climate Change & Health, Corporate Environmental Strategy, Global Public Affairs and Patient Relations and ESG Strategy & Intelligence. The Global Health Equity team is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s social responsibility strategy and the company’s efforts to improve access and affordability for vulnerable people living with diabetes or other serious chronic diseases such as obesity. We run partnership programmes and work with patient organisations, NGOs, and other partners to address access to care challenges for people with diabetes and other serious chronic diseases in low-resource settings around the world.
